Paris Fashion Week Round-Up

Wrapping up the month of fashion parades, Paris always saves the best until last. Whether you fell for King Karl's brasserie runway or were captivated by the Zoolander cameo at Valentino, there was plenty to keep even the most worn-out fashion editor captivated. Here's our highlights of Paris Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2015.
Rex FeaturesThe Cameo
In perhaps one of the best catwalk-bombs of all time, Derek Zoolander and Hansel Macdonald (aka Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson) reprised their famous ‘walk off’ at the Valentino show. Aside from the fact that the label is more know for its modest, buttoned up aesthetic, the sight of fashion’s to most seriously good looking film characters was a surprise in itself. And so hot right now.
IndigitalThe Model Army
The rollcall of Angels (both in the Victoria’s Secret and heavenly perfect sense) seemed endless at the Balmain show. Joan, Karlie, Adriana, Lily, Jourdan, Stam and Alessandra were all on parade as was Gigi Hadid who is enjoying a stellar season. Sex appeal is back on the fashion menu according to Olivier Rousteing.
IndigitalThe Bag
From daytime-ready handbags at Loewe in every colour of the rainbow to jet set travel case/shoppers at Louis Vuitton, there were plenty of contenders for It-bag of the season.
IndigitalTrend: Victoriana
High necklines, ruffles and bustles all recall the propriety of the Victorian drawing room. Both Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy and Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen were caught up in the trend which has been spotted throughout fashion month. Long live Queen Vic!
IndigitalThe Bling
While several shows had some mega jewellery going on – hello Lanvin and – it was Stella McCartney’s knotted pearls that caught the fash pack’s attention. Coming soon to a street near you.
IndigitalTrend: Leopard
While everyone has a leopard print piece in their wardrobes, designers gave the classic motif a psychedelic spin this season injecting striking colour and clashing hues.
PA PhotosThe Dye Job
While our eyes were, of course, glued to the catwalks, it was impossible to ignore Kimye this season, thanks mostly to Mrs West’s newly peroxided do. While we hear the maintenance requires re-bleaching EVERY TWO DAYS, we’re pretty certain the look is going to catch on amongst style lovers. High maintenance hair is back, colourists everywhere rejoice!
IndigitalTrend: High-waisters
Get ready for the new high waisted trouser. Seen in jeans at Isabel Marant, at Carven in fetching lilac and buttoned flares at Sonia Rykiel, the cut can we wide or skinny as long as the waistband sits ultra high. Time to shelve those hipsters for good.
IndigitalThe Debate
Are laddered tights ever chic? That was the question many of the Saint Laurent show-goers asked as they left Hedi Slimane’s new rock star/groupie spectacle this season. The answer is, probably not. But they certainly make your look badass.
Getty ImagesThe Set
As ever Karl Lagerfeld created the most instagram-able set of fashion month by erecting a fully functional French restaurant, named aptly Brasserie Gabrielle. Complete with reserve tables, banquettes instead of FROWs and a trusty bar serving up Perriere Jouet, the only shame was that the haunt wasn’t a permanent fixture. And did we mention the double plate clutches? Instant collectibles!
IndigitalThe Carpet
This season interiors have played a big part in catwalk presentations – especially when it comes to carpets. In London Mary Katrantzou had a Pepto-Bismol spongy walkway, while J.W.Anderson sent his models down a decidedly bad taste 80s pile. The floor covering of Paris was undoubtedly spotted at Sonia Rykiel where lip patterns made for one of the coolest carpets of all time. #carpetchic

The Shoe
However you feel about Chanel’s ultra lady-like two tone, mid heel slingbacks, there’s no doubt they are going to have a big impact on the footwear landscape. Ok, so your gran would love them, but they also look seriously comfy. We could definitely be persuaded.
