The Our Place x Selena Gomez collection is live and we've never needed anything more
The Our Place X Selena Gomez drop has arrived and it's officially taken the Always Pan and Perfect Pot that we know and love to lofty new heights of Hollywood stardom.
Yep, we didn't think it was possible like Our Place more than we already did, but the cookware brand have pulled it out the bag with this collection and brought the people what they want to see: namely, punchy summer colourways that look like something straight out of a Mexican fiesta. It's only fitting, too, with Selena Gomez herself - a triple-threat singer, businesswoman and actor - of Mexican descent. And, from the sneak peeks we've seen of her Los Angeles mansion on Selena + Chef (the star's HBO Max quarantine cooking show), it seems she has impeccable homeware and interiors taste; we're talking herringbone tiles, exposed brickwork - a masterclass in contemporary classic design.
From the tortilla chip casserole Selena's nana passed down through the family (which is, by the way, an easy oven-cook dream for the hurried top chef's among us) to the iconic New York omelette Steve Martin's character, Charles, makes in Disney+/Hulu's Only Murders in the Building (in which he co-stars with Selena), it'd be fair to say cooking has filled the four corners of the young executive producer's life. Now, with this new collection, Our Place X Selena Gomez are sizing up against even the front runners of the cooking world (Le Creuset and KitchenAid, we see you) with their non-stick, do-it-all pans.
If you're not familiar with the trending range, the Always Pan is designed to replace up to eight pieces of your cookware, with everything from a steamer basket to a space-saving spoon rest included in the set. The Perfect Pot, too, can replace eight items in your kitchen; however, this one - ever as popular on social media as the OG pan - can go in the oven, as well - ideal for all the slow cook fanatics. Now, with Selena's new celeb Our Place collaboration, the brand are donating 10% of all net proceeds to her Rare Impact Fund, a non profit mental health-focused subsidiary of her cosmetics brand, Rare Beauty.
With all her cooking hacks and know-how, not to mention titbits she must have learnt from that iconic (and unscripted!) Selena + Chef episode with professional restauranteur Antonia Lofaso, who better an individual to partner with Our Place than Selena? Speaking to the brand about their first celebrity collaboration, she said:

The collection comes in two shades, lush berry pink and vibrant electric blue. Coincidentally, both shades remind us of Selena's bold outfits as Alex Russo in her 00s show, The Wizards of Waverly Place but, they do say Y2K style is coming back, so… Circling back to the collection itself, Our Place have stocked Selena's punchy colourways in both the Always Pan and Perfect Pot, as well as their gorgeous dinnerware, glassware and knife set collections. Though, you'd better get online fast, or you'll be left forlorn and looking for dupes on Amazon when they inevitably go out of stock (and they will). Race ya!
