Orlando was born in Canterbury, Kent on 13th January 1977, and named after the 16th Century composer Orlando Gibbons by his artsy parents. He was encouraged by his mother to take art and drama classes from an early age; a love and flair for the creative earned young Orlando a place at Hampstead Fine Arts College then a scholarship to the British Drama Academy. Two days after graduation, Orlando was cast as the nimble, not to mention hot, elf Legolas in The Lord of the Rings (2002).

Miranda was born in Sydney, Australia on 20th April 1983. At 13, the beauty won a local modelling competition for girl’s mag, Dolly. As a teen, she dropped out of studying Nutrition and Health Psychology at college and relocated to New York to sign with major modelling player, NEXT Model Management. A number of high-profile runway and print campaigns followed, including Roberto Cavalli and L.A.M.B, before Miranda become the first Australian to land a contract with Victoria’s Secret in 2007 – replacing Gisele Bundchen – and supermodel-superstardom came a’calling.

Orlando and actress Kate Bosworth had an on-off relationship for four years before finally calling it a day in 2006. Kate has since said: “Orlando and I met when we were kids. Blue Crush hadn't come out. Lord of the Rings hadn't come out. He was the first big heartbreak. First love - you feel like it's the be-all and end-all… I regret that it was too intense for both of us.”

Miranda started dating finance broker-about-town Adrian Camilleri in 2003, but, after an investigation into his investments, Camilleri was found guilty on five counts of fraud and sentenced to nine months’ jail time. Miranda ended the relationship, and reports claim the beauty suffered financially "after taking her boyfriend's financial advice". She also dated musician Jay Leon (pictured) for four years after appearing in his band Tamarama’s 2003 music video Everything To Me.

2007: First Date
Miranda and Orlando first crossed paths in late 2007. The model revealed that she was “reluctant” to strike up a relationship with him because she hated “the idea of dating a movie star”, even turning Orlando down a few times! But the hottie refused to give up: "I think it was his persistence (that won me over),” Miranda admitted, “maybe he wanted me because he thought he couldn't have me.”
Bigpicturesphoto.com2009: Jennifer Aniston Rumours
In late 2009, news broke that Orlando had been romancing a newly-single Jennifer Aniston behind Miranda’s back, after pictures emerged of them poolside at a Mexican resort. However, they dismissed the rumours, revealing they were there to attend the wedding of a mutual friend. The pair, reportedly pals for six years, then went to great lengths to avoid being pictured together on the return flight back to LA, where they were met by their mutual manager (pictured).

Miranda and Orlando were notoriously tight-lipped about their relationship early on, and dogged engagement rumours for years - even when Miranda was spotted with an impressive sparkler on her ring finger in 2009. However, in June 2010, Orlando’s rep finallyadmitted it – the world’s most genetically-perfect couple were to marry.

Just a month after their confirmed their engagement, reports began circulating that the pair had gotten hitched. And hitched they had, in an intensely-intimate, hush-hush ceremony on July 22nd 2010. Miranda even cancelled her upcoming public appearances without much notice, forcing the notoriously-private model to release a statement confirming their nuptials and impending honeymoon. “Why the rush?” the world’s press asked in unison. Speculation was rife that a baby Bloom was on the way…

…And speculation was right! Just a month later, Miranda confirmed she was four months pregnant, saying: "I've always been open about wanting to be a mother one day, and I've always thought Orlando would be a great dad." The following month, she pulled a ‘Demi’ and posed nude with her bump for the cover of W magazine.

The style columns immediately went on ‘bump-watch’, and the supermodel didn’t disappoint. She became the first model to appear on a Vogue cover pregnant (Australian Vogue at 24 weeks), while months of style-savvy maternity wear, made Baby Bloom the most chic, designer-clad bump in Celebdom. And Orlando did the ‘doting-dad-to-be’ so well, too.
Rex Features2011: Flynn Bloom Born
Seven months later, on 6th January 2011, the Blooms welcomed their son, Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland Bloom. The couple announced his birth via Miranda’s personal blog: “He weighed 9lb 12 ounces (a very healthy and big baby boy). I gave birth to him naturally; without any pain medication and it was a long, arduous and difficult labour, but Orlando was with me the whole time supporting and guiding me through it. I could not have done it without him.”
Flynet2011: Perfect Family
In December, Miranda gave us a glimpse into Bloom family life, revealing that she chants every morning and night with Orlando and their baby son, Flynn: “We chant as a family. Flynn sits there and has his little beads. He loves it.” Both she and her actor hubby are devout Buddhists: “I think it’s really important to be first and foremost spiritually fit because it really radiates beauty for the rest of your life!” Miranda says.
Flynet2012: Split Rumours Surface
In July, the couple were rocked by rumours again that their two-year marriage was “on the rocks”, after they were both spotting not wearing their wedding rings. However, Miranda’s manager blasted the claims, insisting: “There is absolutely no truth in the story.”
Rex Features2012: Leo Rumours
Five months later, Miranda and Leonardo DiCaprio laughed off rumours that the pair enjoyed a flirty night out at New York nightclub Rosewood. A source confirmed: “Miranda and Leo are really good friends, been friends for years.”
PacificCoastNews.com2012: Mum Speaks Out
In December, Orlando’s mother Sonia spoke out in defence of her son’s marriage to Miranda, insisting: “I don't know where this has come from but, my gosh, they are very happy.” Miranda also dismissed the ‘split’ claims, stating they’d be spending Christmas together as a family: “Orlando and I don't work over Christmas and the holiday season, so it's really nice for us to be together…And this year, since Flynn is a little bit older, it's going to be so nice to just see the way that he gets excited about Christmas. The wonderful thing is that we're all together.”
Wenn2013: Golden Globes
What better way to silence the rumour mill than to step out together looking happy – and hot! Miranda and Orlando made their red carpet return at the Golden Globes 2013, where they were photographed holding hands and looking lovingly at one another. At the after-party, Orlando told reporters of his wife: "She's so beautiful", while Miranda added that she was looking forward to "dancing with her husband." Okay, we get it. You’re in looooveeeee.
PA Photos2013: The Future
But it didn't last and the pair announced their split in October 2013. "Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family," they said in a statement. And this gorgeous family snap, taken a few days later, seems to prove it.
