Obsessed with The Fall? Here are 10 other old crime dramas you might've missed at the time (and where to stream them right now)
The Fall is the TV show everyone is talking about right now.
The gripping crime drama stars Gillian Anderson and a pre-Fifty Shades Jamie Dornan. Anderson plays detective superintendent Stella Gibson who, along with her task force (and her incredible collection of silk shirts), tries to track down the serial killer known as 'The Belfast Strangler' – who viewers know as Paul Spector, played by Dornan.
Despite the show airing way back in 2013, it's had a massive resurgence in viewing figures since landing on Netflix last month and dominating the top spot on the streaming site's homepage.
This got us thinking, how many other brilliant TV shows are out there from a few years back, that we might have missed when they first aired? The answer is: a lot – but don't worry, we searched high and low across all the top streaming sites to find the very best in The Fall-esque series of years gone by that deserve your undivided viewing attention.
Take Intelligence, set in Vancouver and launching way back in 2005, the show follows the director of an Organised Crime Unit who recruits a top drug-smuggling boss as a police informant – the two must work together to maintain their hold on their respective businesses. Despite being cancelled in 2008, the show has a huge fan base and a seriously impressive rating of 8.2 on IMDB. Like The Fall, it's been snapped up by Netflix, with both seasons available to stream.

Marcella (2016 –)
The first two seasons of this enthralling ITV drama are available to stream on Netflix. It stars Anna Friel as police detective Marcella Backland, who works gruesome cases on the Met's murder squad, but who also suffers violent blackouts as a result of her dissociative identity disorder.
Season 3 has already dropped internationally on Netflix, while the UK are waiting for an exact release date (presumably on ITV Player). The last we heard, back in June, it was coming to UK screens in autumn, so hopefully we don't have long to wait.
Criminal Minds (2005 – 2020)
Emmy-nominated show following the Behavioural Analysis Unit (B.A.U.), a subsection of the F.B.I, an elite team of profilers whose job it is to get inside the minds of the country's most violent and dangerous criminals, to try and stop them before they act again.
There are 14 seasons available on Amazon Prime, so best get your binge-watch on.
The Disappearance (2016)
A gripping French thriller that was made for weekend binge-watching. When a young woman, Lea Morel, never returns from a music festival, her parents are desperate for police to find her. But when a newly-transferred lieutenant begins digging into Lea's life, she realises her family may not have known the teenager as well as they thought.
The Missing (2014 – 2016)
On a family holiday to France in 2006, Tony and Emily Hughes' five-year-old son Oliver goes missing. French police launch a huge manhunt to find the missing boy, who appears to have vanished into thin air, while Tony and Emily try to figure out what happened to their son while dealing with the overwhelming fall-out, both in their relationship and with the media.
Series two – which follows a different family – is also available to stream on iPlayer, as is Baptise, a spin-off show about the French detective who led the case to find Oliver.
True Detective (2014 –)
A truly stellar cast brings this critically-acclaimed and award-winning crime drama to life. Across three seasons, we follow different detectives as they unearth the secrets behind each investigation – both in and outside the law.
And when we say stellar cast, we mean seriously stellar – Matthew McConaughey, Colin Farrell, Mahershala Ali, Woody Harrelson, Rachel McAdams and Vince Vaughn to name just a few. That's when you know a show is good.

The Field of Blood (2011 – 2013)
Set in 1980s Glasgow, Paddy Meehan is a young journalist in a field dominated by men who dreams of becoming an investigative reporter. Her chance finally arrives when a young boy is kidnapped and found murdered, but Paddy begins to see connections to a past crime – something no one else sees – and soon, it becomes clear that she might be in over her head.
