New Year Fashion Resolutions

Like most style savvy women, when a star finds a look she loves, she tends to stick with it. But what if she were to decide to branch out? New year, new you, and all that? We take a tongue-in-cheek look at the fashion resolutions some of our favourite dressers could be making as we go into 2013
Rex FeaturesKim Kardashian
Her Style Signature: Voluptuous. Vampy. Very tight.
GoRunwayKim Kardashian
The Resolution: Kim’s no fool – she dresses to suit her shape, and kudos to her for that. However, once, just once, we’d love to see her eschew one-size-fits-all bandage dresses for something a little more directional, like one of spring/summer 2013’s cocoon shapes.
Chanel, spring/summer 2013.
PA PhotosDelilah
Her Style Signature: Grunge is the word for 2012’s Miss Thing.
GoRunwayDelilah
The Resolution: Oh, how we’d love to see this young London music talent championing more and more London design talent – Christopher Kane, Erdem or Jonathan Saunders, perhaps? She did it in Julien Macdonald, at the British Fashion Awards, and it was a resounding success. Encore!
Christopher Kane, spring/summer 2013.
Rex FeaturesAlexa Chung
Her Style Signature: Feminine eccentric with a fetish for flats.
GoRunwayAlexa Chung
The Resolution: Alexa’s doing fashion all kinds of right – well, she is a contributor at British Vogue – but, as a wise person (probably) once said, woman cannot live in ballet pumps alone. Could 2013 be the year that our girl falls for bonkers, the-bigger-the-better footwear? Stranger things have happened.
Alexander Wang, spring/summer 2013.
PA PhotosSalma Hayek
Her Style Signature: Blow-the-budget, head-to-toe runway looks.
GoRunwaySalma Hayek
The Resolution: As the wife of one of the world’s biggest luxury magnates, it’s Salma’s prerogative to skim off the best of the best of the collections. But wouldn’t it be fabulous if, just sometimes, she was asked on the red carpet, “Who is your dress by?” and she responded, “This old thing? Topshop.”
Topshop Unique, spring/summer 2013.
Rex FeaturesRihanna
Her Style Signature: No-holds-barred urban rude gal.
GoRunwayRihanna
The Resolution: To lead the star pack when it comes to one of the new season’s most surprising trends: the smart Bermuda. Riri never met a pair of shorts she didn’t like, and we want to see her own this look.
Nanette Lepore, spring/summer 2013.
Rex FeaturesMiley Cyrus
Her Style Signature: Crop tops galore.
GoRunwayMiley Cyrus
The Resolution: To put it away every once in while. We get it, she works hard for her abs, but it is possible to get too much of a good thing. How great would the young starlet look if she chose to show off, say, her décolletage instead, in this simple, chic embellished slip by Valentino?
Valentino, spring/summer 2013.
Rex FeaturesJanuary Jones
Her Style Signature: Alas, ill-fitting denim.
GoRunwayJanuary Jones
The Resolution: We know she’s a busy working mum, and we do get why denim is so convenient, but why opt for something that doesn’t fit? We’d love to see January resolve to spring clean her denim drawer – and clear out some space in her closet while she’s at it so she can stock up on easy, breezy, throw-on-and-go dresses.
House Of Holland, spring/summer 2013.
Rex FeaturesTaylor Swift
Her Style Signature: The singer’s penchant for vintage tea dresses is near-legendary.

Taylor Swift
The Resolution: There’s no denying that Taylor always looks pitch-perfect, but she’s only young, and – between us – we’d love to see her rough up her ultra-pretty image every now and then with a grungier, sportier vibe.
Prabal Gurung, spring/summer 2013.
Rex FeaturesJennifer Aniston
Her Style Signature: A mirror image of her boyfriend’s classic Americana cool.
GoRunwayJennifer Aniston
The Resolution: Time was that you couldn’t prise Jennifer Aniston out of a LBD; now, it's all about jeans, tanks and leather biker jackets. We all know this gal can pull off anything, though – and what we’d really, really love to see her do is dive head-first into spring’s matrix of graphic, edgy prints.
Holly Fulton, spring/summer 2013.
Rex FeaturesMarion Cotillard
Her Style Signature: The sign on Marion's wardrobe door reads, 'if it's not Christian Dior, it's not coming in'. (Or it might as well.)
GoRunwayMarion Cotillard
The Resolution: There are so many amazing designers in the world, and so little time! Marion’s surely got to run out of Christian Dior wardrobe options at some point – and when she does, we’d love to see her go massively off-piste and pledge her allegiance to a quirky British label with a masculine bent, like Paul Smith. Talk about a style 360!
Paul Smith, spring/summer 2013.
