Reading/Leeds 2010

Glyndebourne
20 May – 29 August, Lewes, East Sussex
For the more refined, a trip to Glyndebourne is a must. Operas, concerts and classical music abound, not the place to hang out with a six pack of Stella though.

Wychwood Festival
4 - 6 June, Cheltenham Racecourse, Gloucester
This excellent family festival is a great place to witness some local talent, you may not have heard of Cat Green Bike, Napoleon in Rags and Phantom Limb but they could just be the stars of tomorrow.

V Festival
21 – 22 August 2010, Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire.
Acknowledged amongst music fans everywhere to have one of the most exciting line-ups of the season, expect the likes of Kings Of Leon, The Prodigy and Paul Weller rocking this year’s V, whilst VIP’s can enjoy the sophisticated celeb-packed surroundings of the über-cool Virgin Media Louder Lounge – with cocktails, BBQs and A-list-style pampering a’plenty! Africa Oye
18 - 20 June, Sefton Park, Liverpool
The biggest African music festival in the UK which attracts dozens of artists from all over the world. The line up this year includes Michael Rose (Jamaica), Habib Koite (Mali), and The Gangbe Brass Band (Benin) a must for any serious fans of world music.

Hop Farm Festival
3 – 10 July, The Hop Farm, Paddock Wood, Kent
Bob Dylan will be gracing the stage at this year’s Hop Farm Festival along with Mumford and Sons and Seasick Steve. Expect lots of jolly music, activities and low key cool.

Weekend At Willow Festival
29 - 30 May, Willow Farm, Faversham, Kent
If cheese is your medicine then tuck into Willow Farm. East17, Bananarama and NDUBZ will all be working their special magic on the family-friendly crowd.

Another great festival from The Garden, featuring The Phantom Band, Francois K and Soundstream.

Benicassim FIB
15 - 18 July, Benicassim, Valencia, Spain
Four days of concerts over nine days of camping in the beautiful Spanish sunshine....If your idea of a holiday is lounging on the beach followed by dancing till dawn, this is the place to be. With Vampire Weekend, Kasabian and Four Tet all set to perform this year promises to be better than ever.

Kendal Calling

As well as being set in some of the most stunning scenery the UK has to offer, Kendal Calling offers a dazzling selection of music for one of the smaller events: OK GO, Calvin Harris and Erol Alkan are all set to perform this year as well as whole host of others, including some to delight the folk fan.

Latitude
15 – 18 July, Henham Park, Southwold, Sunshine Coast, Suffolk
With Florence and her beautiful machine headlining this year’s festival, Latitude promises to be a sun-soaked weekend of great music.

Offset Festival
4 - 5 September, Hainault Forest Country Park, Redbridge
An awesome opportunity to check out some new talent on the doorstep of London and an eclectic array with enough variety to satisfy even the most discerning of music tastes. Liquid Liquid, Telepathe and Cluster will all be making appearances.

Rockness
11 – 13 June, Loch Ness, Clunes Farm, Dores, Inverness, Scotland

9 – 11 July Punchestown Racecourse, Naas, Co. Cill Dara Ireland
Ireland’s biggest three-day rock festival returns for another year. With Eminem, Muse and The Prodigy to headline it’s sure to go down a storm.

Stop Making Sense Festival
3 – 5 September, The Garden, Petrcane, Croatia
An eclectic mix of music all set under blazing hot sunshine in Croatia, a summer holiday with the added bonus of great music. Expect Joana And The Wolf, Son Of Dave, Friendly Fires, Favela Chic and many more.

Big Chill Festival 2010
5 – 8 August, Eastnor Castle Deer Park, Herefordshire
The Big Chill returns once again to deliver some seriously tasty tunes, from MIA and Kelis to Massive Attack and Kruder & Dorfmeister. As well as music this year there’s the chance to get involved in a gigantic naked photoshoot so get those bods prepped now.

Hard Rock Calling
25-27 June, Hyde Park, London
Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Pearl Jam – legends unite at this year’s Hyde Park for the über-cool Hard Rock Calling. Expect plenty of magic moments from this season’s most eclectic line-up, which also includes the funk-tastic likes of Jamiroquai and Elvis Costello, whilst the on-location Hard Rock Café features world-class memorabilia to wow and delight festival-goers.
