This is the surprisingly popular dress trend we can't get enough of this season
Just when we all thought we were becoming Scandi influencers with chic, minimalistic aesthetics who were entirely repelled by the idea of a whisper it bold colour palette, we go and get sucked in by one of the punchiest fabric trends to have come out of 2019.
Unexpectedly popular, the concept of 'mixed print' emerged onto the mainstream radar at the start of this year via a certain cult Rixo dress, worn and loved by, well, everyone, before it quickly became one of the major go-to fabrication styles for all manner of fashion houses.

Available in varying degrees of intensity, tentative shoppers who want to dabble in the trend ought to opt for subtle contrasts, with perhaps a larger polka dot vs a smaller one (note: these must be separate in segmented sections), while those feeling a little more adventurous would be advised to branch out and experiment with both print and colour at the same time.

Unsurprsingly, one of the most popular prints to be 'mixed' is the floral - which, Miranda Priestly, is by no means restricted to spring. Even more surprising is the colours that somehow work for this print...
Hues that would tend to clash - such as red and purple, green and pink or orange and blue - somehow work, while tonal pieces - with gradients of blues and greens, for example - are an easier palette to tackle.
