"I love Dolce and Gabbana because they love Sicily even more than I do. Which is a lot. The theme usually plays a pivotal role in their collections but this one was shamelessly, joyously OTT with corsets and hoop dresses sculpted from traditional Sicilian baskets, the silk dresses printed with those head-shaped ceramic vases that line the touristy strips."

"...But for me it was all about the stripes. The green and white striped, full-skirt dress is a real 'forever number'. I'm saving as we speak."

"I'm also in love with the off-key colour palette at Fendi – bold blacks offset with the palest blue and mustard shades. It works. I'll be bringing it home in their gorgeous stacks of resin cuffs."

"Prada - I loved this show. As with most Prada shows, you initially leave feeling like you know you've seen fashion greatness but you need to go away to process it all before you can fall in love with it."

"The show had a strong Japanese theme - a kind of modern day geisha girl (with a nod to 60s Courreges in the short hemlines) with beautiful heavy duchesse satin skirts and dresses with origami-style folds and pleats in a predominantly monochrome colour palette with splashes of red, pale pink and mint green."

"There were crazy oriental platform shoes adorned with pretty flowers and flat leather slipper boots, judo-style, with patent bows on. At the re-see the next day, I got to see the jewellery up close - pretty little bracelets with enamel flowers, totally to-die-for."

"No.21 is always a favourite of mine and this season did not disappoint. The vibe was very luxe sport. There was a real mix of fabric with lace, satin and leather kept modern and fresh by being paired with cotton and techno fabrics in sporty shapes."

"The designer Alessandro Dell'Acqua showed us sexy little pencil skirts with sporty zip up tops or crisp white cotton shirts. There was also some lovely embellishment and metallic jacquard - I am such a magpie - which kept things feminine and pretty. I want to wear all of it!"

"Sportmax was a real highlight in Milan. The clue was in the name for the sports luxe vibe that purveyed the whole show. I don't have an athletic bone in my body, but that didn't stop me coveting every piece in the collection. We endured an extraordinary plink-plonk modernist soundtrack played at full volume, and even this did not detract from the gorgeousness of the show."

"It opened with 'Dunlop green' silk dresses with windowpane cut outs and desirable chunky white knits with coloured strips, and moved through to clean-cut, bright white seperates teamed with monochrome boots and slick-looking sports bags, held as clutches."

"Hero looks include the striped black and white trouser suit, the large check trousers and the laser-cut, houndstooth, white leather coat and jacket. Game, set and match to slick, crisp style."

"I loved the Jil Sander show. The opening look, a sleeveless coat dress buttoned over a white shirt, had the suggestion of a super-chic sixth former, while a navy, soft shouldered pencil skirt suit that followed was elegant and grown-up."

"The lines were clean and the palette minimal, but it didn't feel stark or hard. The tailoring sat away from the body in curved lines, which created a soft silhouette."

"I loved the shorts suits, the A-line tops and full skirts and the bracelet sleeves on the coats and jackets. My must-have: the crisp white cotton shirt with a neat, narrow collar."

"Calvin Klein shows in New York but does a presentation in Milan. It is always such a treat to see the garments up close and be able to feel the fabrics and admire the workmanship. Known for the purist approach, the brand is perfectly positioned to champion many of the trends this season."

"Comprising of mainly dresses that had a toile-like quality, there was a simple femininity to the shapes. A strong trend emerging is for an origami way of tailoring, and this was a pared back, exquisite take. Highlights included the precise laser cut white and black dresses that were layered over simple shifts, and a really cute structured mini in white."

"I also loved the shoes, which had the hot-trend slim ankle strap and skinny heel, or ornate, molten brass-looking, chunkier heel. Breathtakingly lovely and if my six numbers came up, I'd love to be the sort of chic woman who could carry off this look."

"Graphic prints are a must at Marni, but a cluster of pristine white looks in the middle of the show stuck with me. Look 29, with its square neckline, full, 50s-style mid-length skirt and gorgeous girly peplum top was a favourite."

"Drawstrings, gathering and volume were used to flatter the figure in the form of bustle pleats on skirts and dresses and poufy, soft pouching on sack-back tops. Other elements we loved were the butter-soft summer leathers in prim pinks, bottle green and camel, big bold graphic checks, and wooden shoes and jewellery."
