BAFTA winner Mikey Madison is our awards season fashion darling
Watch out, Hollywood, there's a new leading lady in town. Anora star Mikey Madison, who recently picked up the best actress award at the 2025 BAFTAs and a nomination for Best Actress at the Oscars, is proving to be the next fashion It girl too.
Every year awards season mints a new fashion darling thanks to the plethora of red carpet opportunities for emerging artists (and their stylists) to flex their fashion chops. Last year saw Past Lives star Greta Lee explode onto the fashion scene thanks to her best-dressed appearances with the help of celebrity stylist Danielle Goldberg, which landed her brand partnerships with the likes of Loewe. Needless to say, how a rising star fares on the carpet can open up doors to a world of future high fashion relationships—or shut them firmly in their faces.

This year, as awards season kicked off (albeit to a more sombre mood) and nominations began rolling in, it has slowly become clear who the next fashion darling is. Mikey Madison has been quietly turning heads in the run-up to film's biggest night and before long her name will be on everyone's lips. The 25-year-old has also been in Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood, Scream, and Better Things but it's her turn in Anora as Ani, a sex worker who gets entangled with a family of Russian oligarchs, that has cemented her as this year's breakout star.
For her growing list of red-carpet appearances, Mikey has enlisted stylist Jamie Mizrahi, whose other celebrity clients include Jennifer Lawrence, Riley Keogh, and Jeremy Allen White, and her bet has clearly paid off. From making headlines for her cream Prada gown at the 2025 BAFTAs to the custom gold Bottega Veneta dress at the Golden Globes, Mikey has officially become this year's red carpet darling. Even at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, a relatively low-key affair compared to the known press stops, Mikey still stunned in a red Proenza Schouler number, proving her commitment to every red carpet event she attends.

But what exactly maketh a red carpet star? Well, a great stylist for starters. After all, Zendaya wouldn't be Zendaya without her image maker Law Roach. A seasoned celebrity stylist has the power to pull from luxury brands that a fledging movie star can't. He or she will also be able to identify the best silhouettes that suit the client's body type. It's a common misconception that the loudest look wins at a photo call. From the latest appearances, it's clear that Jamie has identified hourglass shapes or off-shoulder, Bardot dresses as the best styles for Mikey, preferably in black, white or red. These outfits have been oozing quiet luxury, and they work not because they're the grandest gowns in the lineup but because they're flattering on the actress without distracting from her naturally beautiful features.
While it's important to come out of the gates with a signature look, you still want to keep people excited for what—and who—you're going to wear next. This is where the recent onslaught of themed red carpet dressing has become more drab than dramatic. Method dressing is great and all, but you still want to maintain an element of surprise. Jamie has done a great job pulling from an array of zeitgeisty designers from Prada to Schiaparelli, ensuring Mikey's looks are on point.
Now we'll just have to wait and see what the duo come up with for the Oscars on March 3, but in the meantime, you can take a look at Mikey Madison's best looks so far.
