Michael Kors taps Bob Marley's granddaughter AND Keith Richards's granddaughter for new handbag campaign
Michael Kors’ newest campaign, Michael Kors The Walk, has just dropped and we’re crushing hard on the lineup. Featuring British model Ella Richards, American model Selah Marley and Chinese actress Yang Mi, the three influencers style out their Sadie bag in the streets of Shoreditch (hello Redchurch Street). Each of the girls dressed themselves for the shoot and—in true street-style fashion—the whole campaign was shot by the legendary Tommy Ton. The coolest thing? All these girls are making serious waves in the fashion industry. Here’s exactly what you need to know about the campaign stars…
She’s from rock royalty with the last name Richards… Yep, you guessed it - she’s Keith Richards’ granddaughter. At just 20, she’s been turning heads all over the fashion industry. She’s already appeared in campaigns for Burberry as well on the covers of magazines including GLAMOUR Spain and Numéro Tokyo.
Repping the Brit-cool look, we love that Ella chose to pair her black Sadie bag with a monochrome trench, fishnet tights and biker boots. Tying in the red tassel accessory on her bag to her look, she finishes the outfit perfectly with a red lip-print necktie.
This 18-year-old New York native also comes from celebrity stock. Selah is the daughter of Lauryn Hill and Bob Marley’s son, Rohan. Casual, huh? Her Instagram feed is the one we can’t get enough of right now. She styles out eclectic pieces, travels the world and pops into all the parties worth going to.
How much do you want Selah’s faux-fur leopard coat? We adore this look. A classic combination of jeans, a white tee and some pumps dressed up with a statement coat and the Sadie bag for a pop of colour. Perfect.
Primarily an actress, Yang Mi reached international success after starring in the Palace TV Series but she’s also been praised for her singing ability and has scored a bunch of big-budget advertising campaigns. She first caught Michael Kors’ attention in 2015 and it proved a match made in heaven. Talking to Vogue after the Met Ball this year, he said: “She lives this incredible jet set life, and she looks chic every step of the way, and that’s very Michael Kors.”
Demure and ladylike, Mi pairs her grey Sadie bag with a streamlined, effortless look that would totally go from day-to-night.
