Meghan Markle once wrote a blog post about being a princess
Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll know that Meghan Markle is now living her best life as the Duchess of Sussex, aka, Prince Harry's wife. The newly-wed royal has been spending her time on royal appointments, jetting off around the world and generally living every girl's dream life - having an awesome career AND THEN becoming a princess? It doesn't get much better than that.
However, we all have a past, and much of Meghan's was recorded on her blog, The Tig. The fashion and lifestyle site, which she closed down in 2017, had a pretty big following and was active for around three years.
New entries are now being dug up all the time, and the latest one has a rather interesting royal connection. According to PEOPLE, when she interviewed Princess Alia Al-Senussishe, she wrote,
“Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power...Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate.”
OOH GIRL! Little did she know, she'd soon be following in Kate's footsteps, with a wedding that saw 29 million people tuning in. Wowza. If only she was still writing that blog now...
At the time of the blog closure, she wrote a farewell message to fans:
“To all my Tig friends.
After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it's time to say goodbye to The Tig.
What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity.
You've made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy. Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking risks, and keep being ‘the change you wish to see in the world."
When GLAMOUR asked Meghan Markle why she named the site The Tig, she told us: "The name The Tig comes from a wine called tignanello, and the first time I had a sip of this wine, it was such an "aha" moment. I finally understood what people were talking about when they spoke about the body, the legs or structure of wine. That for me became a Tig moment - this feeling I get when I'm like 'I finally get it!' It translates to fashion, too, that it's not just clothes - clothes can be art."
The 35-year-old actress wrote various articles on the site, including her New Year resolution and her style secrets.
For important occasions, Meghan's power-play remains her smart-casual chignon, complete with loose tendrils.
Since returning to the west coast, Meghan's relaxed back into a looser California-cool vibe for off-duty days.
