Is this denim shorts trend wearable for the non-supermodels among us?

Aren't they just super unflattering?

So can - or more importantly, should - us mere mortals be wearing them? And what is it about long denim shorts that's making us feel uneasy, despite being supermodel approved?

"My sister used to wear them in the 80s with Converse and her perm," GLAMOUR's Content Editor Leanne joked when the discussion arose, "think Jessie from Saved By The Bell". So there's that. There's also the unavoidable fact that they're unflattering by nature: doesn't the knee length just shorten the leg and draw attention to your calves? When does anyone want to draw attention to their calves?

We've also become SO accustomed to our thigh-grazing denim shorts
(they're a summer staple and we've worked out that you can even wear them to the office - some rules withstanding) that moving longer feels unnatural.

GLAMOUR's Fashion Editor Lucy Walker says: "Knee length denim shorts are a great alternative to denim cut offs if you don’t want to bear lots of skin, just be sure to buy them a little loose (much more flattering). Team with a silk or cotton shirt and low heels to elongate your legs"

So there it is - will you be trying them?
