Loafers: A guide to wearing them like a street style star
Call it the Gucci effect (again), but the flats everyone will be wearing this autumn are loafers.
We've move beyond the penny loafers that Alexa Chung made popular in a few years ago. Alessandro Michele's take is more grown-up; they're refined, elegant and versatile. high street incarnations have been popping up thick and fast throughout the past few months, offering a comfortable, chic and practical solution to office dressing.
So how should you style them? With cropped, frayed hem jeans or dungarees for the weekend, or with tailored trousers for the office. On the Gucci catwalk, they were worn with pleated midi skirts and A-line 60-inspired dresses.
