Kiernan Shipka and Christian Coppola are giving us all the 'Lizzie McGuire Movie' feels in Rome for Fendi campaign
While Hilary Duff may be busy teasing fans with the tiniest snippets of info about the upcoming re-launch of Lizzie McGuire, we were hit with some seriously reminiscent scenes via a most unlikely source.
Those of us who swooned over Lizzie and Paolo's blossoming romance in the Lizzie McGuire Movie were just served a much-needed fix of Rome realness in Fendi's latest Baguette bag campaign.
Starring best friends - and rumoured couple - Kiernan Shipka and Christian Coppola, the duo take to the streets of the Italian capital for an adventure armed with their iconic Baguette bags (the best kind of adventure, if you ask us).
The 20-year-old star of the Netflix series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina - who's fast becoming a Hollywood favourite - kicks off the glamorous day in a hotel room bursting full of Baguettes (not the lower-case, carbohydrate-filled ones, mind), before joining Paolo Christian on a yellow scooter outside.
Together they explore the city as any young couple would, eating gelato, tossing coins into the Trevi Fountain and playing amongst the statues. All the while, naturally, the pair are armed with their Fendi pieces.
First released in 1997, the Baguette - one of Sex and the City character Carrie Bradshaw's personal favourites - has been a staple for the Italian luxury brand ever since. Having gone through several iterations, however, this may be their coolest offering yet, with Kiernan's bag sporting the perfect 'Millenial Pink' hue, and Christian a fully-functioning - and v. on-trend - belt-bag.
The only real difference between the campaign and arguably (read: unarguably) iconic film is the soundtrack, with Fendi opting for the slightly cooler Praise You by Fatboy Slim. Replace it with a little This Is What Dreams Are Made Of and you could well be left wondering how on earth you overlooked Lizzie's wildly chic accessory wardrobe.
