The first man in Kate Moss’ life was, of course, her dad. Peter Moss was a travel agent in Croydon when Kate was young and, though he split from her mum when Kate was 13, has remained an important part of her life. He certainly gave Jamie Hince a big thumbs up when they got together. "We like Jamie, he's a good influence. You come to a point when you've done enough partying,” Peter said at the time.

Another important man in Kate’s early life was Croydon hairdresser James Brown. The pair met when Kate was just 15 and started doing impromptu photoshoots with photographer and friend Corinne Day. They have remained friends ever since, and James is Lila Grace’s godfather.

In 1992, Kate Moss and Mark Wahlberg stripped down to their waists for a Calvin Klein Underwear ad. But, while the photo was pretty steamy, there wasn’t a whole lot of chemistry between them. "She kind of looked like my nephew,” Mark said. "I mean she's beautiful - she's a very pretty nephew - but I'm more into curvy women."

But it was Kate Moss’ controversial 1993 campaign for Calvin Klein that saw her career rocket. The black and white photographs showed the model with a waifish appearance and heralded the era of the super-skinny model and beginning of ‘heroin chic’.

In fact, Kate is rumoured to have dated the man behind the Calvin Klein Obsession ads, photographer Mario Sorrento, between 1993 and 1994. Whatever happened, the couple remain on good terms and Mario shot Kate again in 2008 for her Longchamp campaign.

Kate Moss’ high profile career was matched by her taste in high profile men. In 1994, she hooked up briefly with Hollywood hottie, Leonardo DiCaprio.

Then came Hollywood star Johnny Depp. The pair met at a café in NY in 1994 and quickly hooked up. "I knew from the first moment we talked that we were going to be together. I've never had that before," Kate said at the time. The pair gained notoriety after the actor allegedly trashed their room at the Mark Hotel while Kate was present. Depp claimed an armadillo had leapt out of a closet and done the damage, but the animal was never found. The on-off couple finally split in 1998.

Kate took a break from rockers when she hocked up with magazine editor and publisher Jefferson Hack in 1999 after he interviewed her for Dazed & Confused. “There's been a lot of different men mentioned in your life recently, but no one permanent relationship. Is there no one out there good enough for you?” he asked. The pair hooked up almost immediately and dated for four years. Their daughter Lila Grace was born in 2003.

As a result, H&M dropped her as their face, as did Burberry. Soon after, Kate ended her relationship with Pete.
