With a spot on the American Idol judging panel, becoming global ambassador for Venus and now a high-profile separation in the works, Jennifer Lopez is firmly back in the spotlight. And she's looking good. We give her stylists, Rob & Mariel, a grilling about dressing one of the world's most beautiful women...

Mariel: We started working with <a href=”https://beautysale.store/celebrity/biographies/jennifer-lopez%22 target="_blank">Jennifer</a>... Was it August or September? I think it was September of last year. People that we knew through her record label had reached out to us, and had conversations with her manager.

PA PhotosRob: She was looking for a new image as she had lots of new opportunities coming up. She had Idol, she had her new album coming out, she has her work with Venus – she wants to look her best.

PA PhotosMariel: The first thing we styled her for was Fashion Table, Fashion’s Night Out in New York, which kicks off Fashion Week. Then we styled her for Macy’s, where she was promoting her fragrance that week.

PA PhotosRob: ...And then it was the Tommy Hilfiger show that week. And then we had a fitting with her for like, 30 outfits!

Mariel: I’d describe her style as feminine, glamorous, edgy and classic... Somehow all at the same time.

PA PhotosRob: The thing that we love about <a href=”https://beautysale.store/celebrity/biographies/jennifer-lopez%22 target="_blank">Jennifer</a>, as stylists working with her, is that she can pull off so many different looks and genres - from old Hollywood Glam to Rock n Roll music. Recently we did a long animal print, flowing dress that was super bohemian and then two days later she wore a vintage white lace mini-dress.

Rob: She loves light colours; nudes, pinks.
Mariel: White and cream, too. And she loves platform shoes.

PA PhotosRob: I’d say the bigger the better, you know whether that be the accessories, jewellery, shoes... Anything with sparkle. She tends to gravitate towards rhinestones, sequins. That’s how the Venus sequinned skirt came about – because it’s both nude and sparkly.

Rob: She wears a lot of Gucci, and she loves Cavalli and Zuhair Murad. But she’s not really picky as far as brands are concerned; she just wears pieces that she likes.

Has her style changed since she became a mum?
Rob: I think her style’s forever changing.
Mariel: Actually, I don’t think it’s changing. I just think it depends on what seems appropriate for whatever the job is.

Rob: The Venus Global Press Conference outfit.
Mariel: That was actually one of my favourite outfits too. It really emphasised her legs because her top was nude and long sleeved. She had on a super-short silver, sequined skirt, long legs, nude shoes so it really brought your eyes to her legs, which are one of her best assets.

Mariel: I think it’s just been a natural progression. Her bottom has gotten so much recognition that it’s time to let the legs shine!
