Struggling to take a decent selfie, but want to boast about your ah-ma-zing holiday on social media? If there's one batch of people who DO know how to pose it up in style, it's these selfie-obssessed celebs on Instagram and Twitter. So we look to them for the best holiday snap advice.
1. Go Bodysurfing
"Bodysurfing" was a major selfie trend that was pretty much spearheaded by Heidi Klum in the summer of 2012. Use to show off your bikini body to its maximum potential - and remember everyone (not just supermodels) look better from this angle.
2. The Side Body Surf
Prefer your legs to your abs? Take a selfie angled from the side, like Pixie Geldof , and show off those pins (pool in background/sun lounger detail adds to the ambience).
3. Lighting is Key
They say that sunset and sunrise are the most flattering forms of natural light for the face. Alternatively, you could just stand in the sun like serial selfie-er Heidi Klum and make your silhouette the focus of the piece.
4. Do a Hipster Group Shot
Got well-dressed, hipster mates like Alexa Chung, who love frolicking in slightly ironic poses? Make them the focal point of your holiday selfie - and double the boast factor (not only are you on HOLIDAY, you also have unbelievably cool friends).
5. Use Props
Model Ireland Baldwin COULD have just posed on the sand to show she was on the beach. Instead, she accessorized with starfish to show a) She's totes at one with nature and b) She's way artistic.
6. Embrace the Great Outdoors
This selfie stance has two benefits: 1) You'll score some serious show-off points for your locations and 2) If you're looking a bit knackered/sunburnt no-one needs to know.
7. Pose with Child
Beyoncé is the queen of an adorable, yet hip family snap. The subtle nod at the camera and retro filter echoes a vintage family album.
8. A Sidey-Selfie
Victoria's Secret model Candice Swanepoel makes her selfie stand-out with a seriously impressive headscarf and a flattering side profile. Just figure out your "good side" first.
9. The Super-Cultured Selfie
Find a cultural landmark - like Emma Roberts - and pose, head slightly tilted over shoulder for a selfie that screams "Oh, hai! I was just checking out this really cool piece of street art".
10. The No Make-Up Couple Selfie
Fearne Cotton looks beautiful in this stripped back, cute couple selfie - it says "we're so loved up and relaxed on hols, I'm going make-up free and doing some serious cuddling".
11. The Drink and Smize
Hayden Panettiere has not only angled her selfie so you can see the cool rooftop bar she's visiting in Milan - she's also managed to squeeze in a glass of wine for ambience AND is doing a serious smize. A true selfie pro.
12. Plan, Meticulously
A selfie so thought-out it resembles a photoshoot. Kylie Jenner may look unaware, but she obviously spent about half an hour planning this. Note: Kylie's seated pose is also super-flattering.
13. Go for Serious PDA
You may make your friends barf, but by posting a loved up holiday selfie with partner you're taking the pressure off your posing, whilst being incredible smug, like Jessica Lowndes and Thom Evans.
14. Get Your Tilt On
Wacky angles always manage to make mundane selfies more interesting - do a 'drinking through a straw' face like Jessie J to imply how awesome your holiday cocktail is.
15. Blurred Lines
You could be on a wet, camping site in Cornwall - but add the right filter and blurring and you imply the heated haze of the Coachella desert. Also, if you can find a bench with a quote on it, like Kelly Brook , it'll show you're way deep.
16. Do the Twist
Kendall Jenner comes from a family of expert selfie-ers - so naturally she's pioneering this bizarre twisted body pose for showing off her bikini.
17. The Lean In
Wear a wide brimmed, floppy hat, position yourself on the edge of the pool, and lean forward in a crab like pose for Lea Michele's poolside selfie style.
18. 'Jokily' Show Off
"Oh, these abs? I can't believe you want take a picture of these! whips off trunks and poses". That's how we imagine Marc Jacobs played it when he was in fact (rightfully) showing off his incredible bod. Being sort of apologetic about your rock-hard abs is a celebrity selfie classic.
19. Get Creative with Photoshop
Probably not really a selfie, because THERE IS NO WAY Mariah Carey did this herself. She's clearly got someone working on her social media snaps to whip up compilations like this. Do the same, and people will think of you as equally fierce (probably).
20. Wear Sunglasses
Most people look 98% better in sunglasses. Even ridiculously beautiful supermodels (Exhibit A: Miranda Kerr). So take their lead and do a selfie in sunnies if you fancy an extreme close up.
21. Turn Your Back
Give your friends a window into your holiday world (and make them way jealous) with this relaxed beach snap, a la Nicole Richie.
22. Gaze Wistfully
Shows pensiveness, and that even though you're on holiday, you're still thinking about stuff. Important stuff, OK? Like where your next cocktail is coming from, right, Ollie Locke?
23. Read, Casually
This pose shows you're still keeping in touch with the world, even on your private island or wherever you may choose to holiday in celebrity-ville. Choose book/magazine carefully as that's what everyone will REALLY be looking at.

24. Pass off Crap Weather
Not actually having good weather on your vay-cay? Make it into a theme for your selfie, as Rihanna did when she posted this mopey selfie - taken inside because it was too cold to sunbathe.
25. Take from Above
Interesting angle, this selfie from Rita Ora - only attempt if you have near-perfect hair/make-up on when sunbathing.
26. Pout and Whip
Whip your hair back, then forward, bring your arms together like you're about to play volleyball and pout - that's (kind of) how Rosie Huntington-Whiteley ended up looking like this.
27. Get Artistic
Think about your background: Solange Knowles 's selfie proves hammocks look WAY cooler on Instagram than they do in real life.
28. Montage
Use an app like Pic Jointer to create multiple selfies telling a story - in this case, that you've got an awesome celeb BFF and you went to get ice cream like Taylor Swift & Selena.
