Our first tip on how to dress like Emma Watson? Get a super chic crop top. Em showcased this lacy bandeau and maxi skirt ensemble from Valentino at the label’s Paris Couture Week show earlier this year.

But it wasn't the first time Em had flashed her abs in a dare-to-bare red carpet crop top. At the GQ Man Of The Year Awards in London in 2012, the actress embraced the midriff-baring trend with this Balenciaga architectural top and loose black trousers.

So once you've got your crop top, it's time to invest in an all-white outfit. One of Emma's go-to red carpet choices that she has returned to regularly over the years is stunning all-white outfits. Emma wowed in this white, flowing Grecian-inspired Alexander McQueen gown at the National Movie Awards in 2008. Her shoes, also by McQueen, were especially made by the late designer for the occasion.

This white mini dress also kickstarted her love affair with Chanel (and, at the time, fuelled rumours that she was to become the face of the brand), Emma looked stunning in this white bejewelled frock and silver pumps at the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix premiere in LA.

Never one to miss a trend (or two, in this case), Emma rocked embellished shoulders and a Little White Dress by Marchesa at the MTV Movie Awards in 2011.

Could her style get any better during the Noah press tour? (Answer: no) Indeed, at the film's London premiere, Emma wore this - frankly divine - Ralph Lauren Collection one-of-a-kind white silk column halter evening dress with Jimmy Choo accessories - naturally! Once again, simple all-white silhouettes was the order of the day.

But when white just won't cut it, Emma can do fairy princess ballgowns with the best of them and, rather impressively, she still manages to retain her innate elegance without letting the dresses wear her. Case in point? This Valentino number at the BAFTAs in 2011.

Sleek, chic and gorgeous in this luxe bohemian gown from Temperley London.

Emma took a fashion risk for the New York Deathly Hallows premiere, looking to the dark arts of Bottega Veneta to make a dramatic statement - and this is still one of our favourite looks on her to date.

From Bottega Veneta to the magic of Oscar de la Renta for the London premiere of the final Harry Potter flick. Emma said goodbye to the franchise that had catapulted her to fame at the tender age of 11, in this gorgeous oyster-hued confection.

Fast forward three years though and Emma can still do fairy princess but now it's got more of a sleeker edge. Enter this classic black dress...

... But all was not as it seemed on first appearances because when she turned around, Emma's Oscar de la Renta gown showed daring - and oh-so-sexy - backless detailing. Go Emma!
Rex FeaturesBurberry Darling
So, once you've nailed the ballgowns, it's time to get with the Burberry Prorsum programme. As the face of the brand in 2010, Emma's always had a soft spot for a bit of Christopher Bailey's fashion magic. This rock ‘n’ roll take on the staple Burberry Trench takes Emma's preppy dress to the next level.

Donning one of the hero dresses for the label's fashion show in 2010, Emma looks picture-perfect in this fun and flirty mini.

In another Burberry creation - this leather-sleeved Burberry trench - Emma is sassy and sophisticated.

As a guest of Burberry designer Christopher Bailey, fashion’s darling Emma sported this custom-made, white, one-shouldered Burberry gown with asymmetric ruffles and diamante Burberry heels at the 2010 Met Ball in New York.

But it's not all ballgowns and Burberry, Emma's also a big fan of the Little Black Dress. However, always with a statement addition or embellishment to the LBD, this monochromatic design by Giambattista Valli with an oversized bow as the skirt is a perfect example.

It's back to Chanel, a firm favourite for Em. Indeed, the fashionista even made a flared tweed frock look fresh, funky and youthful - and now we want one.
Rex FeaturesLBD
How to do the LBD for the 21st century, Emma paired her classic prom frock with a pair of tailored cigarette trousers - turning the trend completely on its head in a heartbeat.

Sleek, chic and with more than a nod to the 90s, Emma nails the midi dress with this Calvin Klein number.

Short, fun and flirty with penty of embellishment, Emma knows when to make a statement with her LBDs.
PA PhotosPeekaboo
But to really nail the Emma Watson aesthetic you're going to have to embrace the peekaboo trend. Regularly sporting red carpet frocks that flash just a hint of flesh, Emma first trialed the trend in a major way in this cutaway Hakaan mini dress.

Continuing to push the fashion envelope, she blew the red carpet competition out of the water at the 2014 Golden Globes in this backless dress with trousers ensemble by Dior.
Rex FeaturesPeekaboo
Talk about vamping it up! Emma enjoyed a moment of risqué as she donned a lace and feather mini dress by Rafael Lopez at the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 premiere.

To accept the Best Family Film gong for Harry Potter at the National Movie Awards in London, Emma chose this Chanel tweed playsuit with cutout detailing at the waist.
Rex FeaturesPeekaboo
To speak about the end of Harry Potter on The Late Show, Emma opts for ritzy Balmain with slicked-down locks and city-gal wedges, playing peekaboo with her arm this time!

Despite her clean-cut image, Emma's never been one to shy away from flesh-baring minis. This backless number had plenty going on, but the actress has balanced out the satin bow with a slick hairstyle.

....No problem!
For the Spanish premiere of Noah, Emma complemented her chic monochrome outfit with a carefully placed but effortless looking side swept 'do.

But lo and behold, we've seen this super-side parting before. At the 2014 Golden Globe Awards no less, where Emma worked grown-up glamour, courtesy of a chic side-parted low bun and a chic berry pout. It was the perfect tonic for her back-baring Dior gown.

And here it is again in 2012.

... And again in 2011. The great thing though? Emma proves her tried and tested hairstyle works on hair whatever the length! Thanks, Em!
