It's confirmed, honey brown hair is the most-searched autumn hair shade

Some hair colours will never not look classic, and honey brown hair is among them. The shade looks beautiful all-year round, thanks to the in-built warmth and glow it bestows on stands, but it looks like the trad shade is experiencing a serious boost in popularity heading into the colder autumn season. According to Pinterest's Fall 2024 trend report, honey brown hair colours look to have come out on top as the most searched shade. In particular, “honey brown curls” saw a 7770% rise in searches, while clicks for “honey brown knotless braids” also increased by 3845%.

What is honey brown hair?

Like the name suggests, the shade mimics the colour of honey, which – when you hold it up to the light – has warm, golden undertones. Like honey itself, there's more than one way to wear the shade, from a lighter golden-blonde honey or a deeper amber honey. "Whether it’s honey blonde, bronde or brunette, the hair colours all incorporate the lust-worthy creamy golden hue," says Jason Hogan, celebrity colour expert at Josh Wood Atelier.

How to maintain honey brown hair?

While there's no doubt warm honey tones are stunning, they do need to be kept in check to avoid any brassiness coming through.
