Holly Willoughby’s Beauty Secrets

We caught up with This Morning star Holly Willoughby to talk about being the new face of Oral-B's 3D White toothpaste, and all things beauty. Read on to find out Holly's hero products, her hair icon, and whether she ever goes to bed with her make-up on...
Rex FeaturesWhat’s your ultimate beauty secret?
I actually tend to curl my eyelashes by heating up my mascara wand for a couple of seconds with a hairdryer. It really works – just make sure you don’t heat it up too much and singe your eyelids!
Rex FeaturesWhat are your hero beauty products?
I love Liz Earle products, the Cleanse & Polish is great and I’m also really liking the new make-up range. I’ve also got the Clarisonic. Although I don’t use it every day but it’s good when I need a deep cleanse after wearing make-up under hot lights all day, which then often gets powder on top of that!
Rex FeaturesThe best beauty buy under £10?
I really like that Lucas Paw Paw Ointment - it really moisturises.
Rex FeaturesFearne has obviously got her make-up range and you both do collections for Very – could we see a beauty line under your charge one day soon?
When I was asked to do the collection for Very, it was like a dream come true to design my own line but as with everything, it’s about having the time – so maybe one day in the future.
PA PhotosHow old were you when you first started experimenting with make-up?
As soon as I could walk! I was definitely one of those girls who was into her mother’s make-up, trying on all the lipsticks.
PA PhotosTalk us through your hair and beauty regime on a night out?
If I’ve got time, I like to blow-dry my hair using those round bristle brushes and I’ll also put on some falsies as that helps me with the eyeliner and I do a smokier eye with a nude lip. If I don’t have time though, I’ll just do a slick of mascara and a bright lip. With my hair, I’ll just blow-dry the front bits again to freshen it up and put in some dry shampoo to give it a bit of body.
PA PhotosDo you ever go to bed without taking your make-up off?
Oh definitely – and anyone that says they don’t is lying! Plus, it’s often the sign of a good night when you see your face on the pillow... As it’s usually smiling back at you!
Rex FeaturesWho’s your celebrity hair icon?
It’s got to be Kate Middleton!
Rex FeaturesYou’ve got gorgeous hair, but have you been tempted to try the dip-dye or rainbow hair colour trends?
When you’ve been dying your hair for as long as I have, the ombre trend just feels like roots – which is what I’ve been fighting against for years! But as for bright colours, although it looks great I just don’t think I’m cool enough to pull it off!

You recently tweeted a photo of yourself make-up free... Are you comfortable going without make-up despite being in the public eye?
Yes, I frequently go make-up free – you know backstage at shoots I’ll be pictured without any make-up on or out and about on a normal day. The thing is, because I wear make-up at work, when I’m not [at work] I tend not to wear it, as it sort of feels like work, in a way. But obviously if I’m going out, then I’ll put some on.
How and why did you first get involved with Oral-B?
Well Oral-B approached me about it and you want to be sure before you put your name to anything so I tried it first and really saw a difference after using it. I liked the idea of a product that did everything – it can replace your normal toothpaste, so there’s no faffing about with trays and having to sit with it on your teeth for twenty minutes - it does it all. Plus, it’s a family brand.
Holly Willoughby is the new face of Oral B 3D White toothpaste, £3.49 is available nationwide from July 2012.
