It's officially discount season, but - what with the rest of our lives having been thrown upside down for the best part of a year, now - you'd be forgiven for having forgotten all about the January sales.
What was once a momentous occasion marked in the calendar of every savvy shopper, the post-Christmas gloom and long winter nights were always reliably perked up by the prospect of snapping up something you've had your eye on for months that finally landed in the sale.
But whether you've not even considered buying clothes since Mach or you've spent the many different variations of lockdown cheering yourself up with several little online sprees, it's likely that you've not been quite as prepared for these sales as you were in previous years. After all, there's been a lot going on...
That's where we come in. Having realised that many of you (and many of us, too!) were caught slightly off guard with this season's discounts, we decided that a thorough bit of research (read: hours of scrolling through thousands and thousands of online sales) was in order.
One of the first brands on our radar was, of course, high street hero H&M, whose up to 70% off January sale is bursting with so many great pieces that compiling a succinct edit was quite a tall order. We managed it, though, and the result is a selection of seriously chic and versatile options, even if we do say so ourselves.
Whether you're in the market for an epic cosy puffer jacket (who isn't, in January?), a comfortable dress with enough waist-up drama for a Zoom date, or a timeless cream knit for another afternoon spent working at the kitchen table, H&M aren't lacking in pieces to up your lockdown looks.
