'Angel eyes' was the winning makeup trend at this year's Met Gala
As we were busy ogling over every Met Gala beauty look; from Stella Maxwell's stunning long hair, to Olivia Munn's bold berry lip, we couldn't help but notice a certain eye makeup trend blinding us with its statement shimmer.
Metallic gold eyes were the choice of almost every red carpet angel, matched with fluttery lashes and a pop of silvery highlighter to amp up the glow.
The makeup trend looked heavenly on an array of skin tones, and is the perfect look to try if you're planning on being a golden goddess all summer long.
So take note and grab a metallic palette, because it's time to go for gold...

Giselle's golden girl eyes were the effort of makeup artist Hung Vanngo, who swept a shimmery shadow underneath the eyes for extra pizazz. Hairstylist David von Cannon was responsible for the equally golden waves.

In case we'd all forgotten, Olivia Munn wanted to remind us that gold paired with berry is an unbeatable combo. Her makeup artist Carly Fisher added delicate dots of gold to the inner corners of each eye, with Buxom's 'Stay The Night' shade swiped across the lips.

Amanda looked like a fairy princess with a matte gold eyeshadow base and silver sparkles layered on top. Combined with loads of lashes and glossy lips, our hearts were aflutter.

Kerry's lashes were almost as sky-high as her hair, with a layer of chunky disco glitter scattered across her lids. Paired with a poppin' highlighter, she was a shimmering sight to behold.

Emma's makeup artist and NARS Director, Rachel Goodwin, mixed metallic shades from the NARSissist Wanted Eyeshadow Palette to create our favourite redhead's angelic eyes. A bronze-gold was used for the outer corners, with an ombre-ish transition into silver towards to the inner corner.

Gigi's eyes were alight with a rose gold base, with a pure gold stroke of Maybelline New York Master Precise Ink Liquid Eyeliner in Solid Gold added down the centre of each eye to create an angel tear. To finish? Maybelline New York Falsies Mascara and a swipe of Color Sensational Matte Lipstick in Nude Embrace, of course.

Go gold or go home. Priyanka's eyes shone thanks to Chanel Ombre Premierè in 'Mirage' (£26), applied by makeup artist Pati Dubroff. Pati says she was inspired by "Sophia Loren, the feeling of Italy and the look of a gilded Indian goddess". Spot on.
