With this in mind, we started thinking about whose hair we love - especially when it comes the best in celebrity manes.

Hair Idol: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
Why?
I love Rosie's hair because she's got that perfect off-duty model texture which allows you to pull off any look, any day.

Hair Idol: Jennifer Lawrence
Why?
I adore Blake Lively's locks because they always look incredible, but in terms of cut and style it has to be Jennifer Lawrence - especially since she's gone icy blonde. I can't get enough of the graduated shape and tousled wavy texture.

Hair Idol: Lily Aldridge
Why?
I constantly dye my hair from brunette to blonde and without fail always go back dark. I think Lily Aldridge is the ultimate brunette, her long wavy locks have always given me major hair envy. And who better to pick than a Victoria’s Secret bombshell?!

Hair Idol: Gwen Stefani
Why? The ‘90s twists, the blue, the pink – I’ve loved pretty much every hairstyle she’s rocked over the years. And if I’m ever brave enough to go blonde, I’ll be taking a picture of Gwen to the hairdresser. Seriously, that colour is the dream, especially when paired with red lipstick!

Hair Idol: Sarah Jessica Parker
Why? For the sheer volume of her hair and statement looks she is known for. Her hair is easy, unstyled, yet chic.

Hair Idol: Alexa Chung
Why? She just totally nails the choppy messy look and I love the length. I ask for it every time at the hairdressers - it never happens!

Hair Idol: Clemence Poesy
Why?
I love her undone messy look which still always manages to look chic. She also rocks grown out roots excellently which makes me feel better about my own.

Hair Idol: Freja Beha Erichsen
Why?
Those messy, tousled waves are perfectly undone. I love her fringe and how tomboyish she looks. Maybe I’m being naive, but it doesn’t look as if she puts much time into getting her hair to look that way either – it all comes across very nonchalant.

Hair Idol: Blake Lively
Why?
She is my go-to for luscious locks inspo, and of course I used to print her photo and take it with me to the hair salon (now I just save screenshots on my phone for the obligatory scroll-through instead. My hair dresser must think I have an obsession, but come on - Blake knows how its done.)

Hair Idol: Florence Welch
Why?
I absolutely adore Florence Welch’s hair. I can never grow my hair that long, and when I’ve had it wavy it’s been 10% Titian glamour and 90% nightmare haystack. It soothes me just to look at pictures of her pre-Raphaelite fabulousness.

Hair Idol: Elizabeth Taylor
Why?
I’m obsessed with early ’60s Hollywood hair: think Elizabeth Taylor’s Cleopatra-era bob, or Marilyn Monroe the night she sang Happy Birthday to President Kennedy (my inspiration for my wedding hair!).

Hair Idol: Rachel McAdams
Why?
Rachel McAdams’ messy bob in True Detective Series 2 is gorgeous. I love the ‘I just woke up like this’ nonchalance of the scruffy wave with its dark roots and blonde ends. I want that hair. In fact, I tried to get that hair, taking a picture to the hairdressers with me only to be told just how much morning styling would have to be put in to perfecting the brilliantly non-perfect.

Hair Idol: Riley Keough
Why?
Though she has been every colour under the sun, her long fiery red waves = heart-eyes emoji. I just love them.

Hair Idol: Sienna Miller
Why?
Her perfect shade of blonde along with that beachy effortless wave are amazing. My favourite look has to be her choppy bob in 2015.
