The GLAMOUR Women of the Year Awards have become such an institution, it’s hard to believe that they haven’t been around forever. They actually began in 2004 with guests including Friends star David Schwimmer, S Club 7, Girls Aloud and Joss Stone, who turned up barefoot.
James Peltekian2005: Usher and Teri Hatcher Flirting
Back before he was busy turning Justin Bieber into a global superstar, Usher attended the GLAMOUR Awards, where a certain Desperate Housewife, Teri Hatcher, caught his attention. Apparently the conversation went something like this….
Usher: That’s a great dress, is it lingerie or what?
Teri: I don’t know.
Usher: I guess you’d have to take it off to find out.
Teri: I guess someone else would have to do that.
Getty Images2006: We Know That CK Model From Somewhere…
Back in 2006, Jamie Dornan was a one-time squeeze of Keira Knightley and had modelled for Calvin Klein. He had a very pretty face and presented Luella Bartley with her Fashion Designer of the Year Award but little did we know what he was to become…
Getty Images2007: Victoria Beckham’s Legs
In 2007 all anyone was talking about was Victoria Beckham and her amazing legs. No wonder they were on the cover of just about every newspaper the following morning. Oh, and Sienna Miller had such a good time that she stayed out partying till 4.15am and then decided to walk her dogs (?!)
Getty Images2008: Lily Allen’s Exit
You can’t invite Lily Allen to a party and expect her to sit quietly in the corner. The singer arrived wearing a Giles Deacon decapitated Bambi dress and bright pink hair. She really got into the party spirit and had to be carried out of the Awards by the door staff at 11.05pm.
Getty Images2009: That Gold Digger Rap
This was a very musical year for the GLAMOUR Awards. Surprise guest Jack Black and pal James Corden devised their own Gold Digger rap, which they performed during dinner as an homage to Man of the Year Kanye West, who cancelled the night before. Then James Corden continued the entertainment, dueting with Estelle to American Boy. Oh, and Adele was there… and Katy Perry… and Kylie Minogue.

One of the most <strike>awkward</strike> memorable moments of the GLAMOUR Awards was when Patrick Stewart launched a surprise attack on host James Corden. The Star Trek actor mistakenly thought that James was trying to get cheap laughs at his expense, telling him “don’t stand at the back of the stage with your hands in your pockets”, before getting more personal “From where I was sitting I could see your belly.” James quipped back at him: “You can see my belly and we can all see you dying right now.”
Getty Images2011: The Year of Kim Kardashian’s Bum
Kim Kardashian won Entrepreneur of the Year in 2011 but all eyes were on her derrière. She had "poured" it into a tight-fitting Dolce & Gabbana gown and even Jessie J praised it in her acceptance speech. The other big talking point of the night was Dawn French’s dramatic weight loss; the comedian, who took home the Writer of the Year trophy, turned up with a glossy new look, which she put down to good, old-fashioned healthy eating.
Getty Images2012: “Let’s Get A Picture Of The Mexicans”
Eva Longoria, Sofia Vergara and Jessica Alba made a beeline for each other at the 2012 GLAMOUR Women of the Year, with Eva Longoria declaring “Let’s Get A Picture Of The Mexicans”. They certainly added some Latino spirit to proceedings, at least until party-girl Eva broke the heel of her shoe.
Getty Images2013: And Then There Was A Rap About Vaginas
The party had only just started when Cara Delevingne, Ellie Goulding and Rita Ora decided to do an impromptu rap about vaginas while squeezing in a cheeky smoke pre-dinner. Lucky that a 14-year-old Brooklyn Beckham, who was mum Victoria’s date for the evening, was out of earshot.
Fearne Cotton/Twitter2014: Fearne’s Dom & Steph Selfie
It seems that even Fearne Cotton is a fan of Gogglebox. When presented with her 2014 award by the programme’s tipple-swigging Steph and Dom, she demanded a selfie right there and then on stage. Icon Of The Year Helen Mirren also raised a few eyebrows when she followed on from a joke Graham Norton made earlier in the evening; he had about not receiving an award because he had a “ck”. Helen continued the theme: “Anyway I do have a real ck...a psychic c**k! I do, I mean I love my vagina.... but maybe it's that that's got me here, I don't know!”
