So Gilmore Girls might be coming back to our screens (eek!)
If you’re anything like us, you’ll have grown up watching Gilmore Girls on repeat, praying for another season to be released. Well, it looks like our dreams might come true faster than Lorelai can sink a cup of coffee because the co-creator of the series, Amy Sherman-Palladino, has hinted at a potential reboot. Yes, seriously.
During the 2020 Writers Guild Awards when questioned on the subject, Amy said: "You know, it's the kind of thing where we hadn't planned on doing the Netflix movies... never say never". She added that it would have to be “the right time for everybody”.
The news of a possible revival follows the release of a special four-part Netflix series Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life which starred the show’s original castmates Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel and Kelly Bishop. “It was like, the moment where Lauren’s like, ‘Hmmm’, and Alexis’ like, ‘Hmmm’, and Kelly’s like, ‘Hmmm’. So we all just did it,” Amy said.
Further speculation was triggered when Amy signed a deal with Amazon in 2017. “If the girls and us get together and we have a concept that works, then we have the freedom to do it,” she said at the time.
Meanwhile, Alexis Bledel said she would be ‘interested in telling a story that is dynamic and that I can sort of relate and can hook into’ in an 2017 interview with Deadline.
Basically, while nothing has been confirmed yet, it sounds like everyone is on board for a long-awaited return of Gilmore Girls. And for that, we will keep our fingers and toes firmly crossed.
Gilmore Girls first premiered in 2000 and ran for seven seasons before coming to an end in 2007 and nothing has come close in comparison.

Lauren Graham: Then
Lauren Graham played the fast-talking, coffee loving Lorelai Gilmore. Mum to Rory Gilmore, Lorelai's storylines revolved around her childhood sweetheart Christopher, Luke from the diner and her relationship with her daughter Rory. She also has a fairly dysfunctional relationship with her mother, Emily, to put it mildly.
Lauren Graham: Now
Gilmore Girls was Lauren Graham's big break and it landed her a few film roles; Bad Santa, The Pacifier, Because I Said So, and Evan Almighty. She also starred on Broadway in the revival of Guys and Dolls.
In 2009 Lauren replaced Maura Tierney in the television series Parenthood as single mother Sarah Braverman. The show ran for six seasons and ended in January 2015.
If that wasn't enough, she's also been on the New York Times best seller list. Graham's debut novel, Someday, Someday, Maybe: A Novel was based on her experiences in the New York acting scene in the mid-1990s. Her second book, Talking as Fast as I Can: from Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls (and Everything in Between) is coming out on 29 November 2016.
Interestingly, Lauren was roommates with Nashville's Connie Britton, and dated Matthew Perry in 2002. Nowadays she's happily loved up with her Parenthood costar Peter Krause.
Alexis Bledel: Then
Alexis Bledel played the uber smart Rory Gilmore, the daughter of Lorelai. As well as being very studious, Rory had her pick of the fellas. Whether you were rooting for her childhood sweetheart Dean, bad boy Jess or her college boyfriend Logan, she definitely had her fair share of boy drama.

Gilmore Girls was Alexis Bledel's first big role. In 2005 she starred in very different roles, as a traitorous hooker in the comic book adaptation, Sin City and in the heartwarming drama The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, opposite Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, and Blake Lively. The girls are still friends to this day, and made a sequel.
In 2009, Alexis guest-starred in the hit medical drama ER in the two-hour series finale as Dr. Julia Wise, a new intern to the hospital. You might also recognise her from three episodes of Mad Men.
Back in 2013 she signed up for Friends & Family, an adaptation of our beloved Gavin & Stacey TV show. Alexis was supposed to play Stacey but the show got cancelled before going to air.
Romantically, Alexis dated her Gilmore Girls co-star Milo Ventimiglia from 2002 to 2006. Then in 2012, she started dating her Mad Men co-star Vincent Kartheiser. The pair are now married and have a baby boy.
Prepare to be shocked with this news - Alexis hates coffee, so every time you saw her sipping on a cup of joe, it was actually Coke.
Liza Weil: Then
Liza Weil played the seriously uptight Paris Geller. At first she was Rory's school arch nemesis, and then she somehow turned in to her best friend, and they even lived together during college. You shouldn't love Paris, but you do.
Liza Weil: Now
Liza Weil was originally considered for the role of Rory Gilmore before Alexis Bledel won the role; the character of Paris Geller was created especially for Liza.
After Gilmore Girls Liza Weil starred as White House aide Amanda Tanner in the first season of Scandal. She obviously impressed the creator of the show, Shonda Rimes, because she was chosen to play attorney Bonnie Winterbottom in How to Get Away with Murder.
Liza has a daughter with fellow actor Paul Adelstein to whom she was married to. Liza filed for divorce in March 2016.
Matt Czuchry: Then
Matt Czuchry played the very handsome, and very rich, Logan Huntzberger. He was Rory's college boyfriend, and he was pretty damn perfect.

After Gilmore Girls Matt Czuchry went on to star in Friday Night Lights as a religious teenager, and then landed another huge TV role. Yep, from 2009 to 2016, he played the role of young, ambitious Harvard-educated lawyer Cary Agos on The Good Wife.
If you're keen to know about his personal life, you've got to dig. Years ago he dated actress Kate Bosworth but Matt keeps his personal life very personal, though it would appear that he's single right now.
Scott Patterson: Then
Scott Patterson played Luke, the owner of the local diner. Stars Hollow was a small town, and everyone headed to Luke's for breakfast, lunch and dinner. He must have made a killing. Lorelai and Luke had insane chemistry and their relationship definitely had obstacles.

As well as starring on Gilmore Girls for seven years, Scott also had a profound effect on Grace in the "Das Boob" episode of Will & Grace.
He has also starred as Agent Strahm in two of the Saw franchise movies.
Before his stint on the telly, Scott Patterson played professional in minor league baseball.
Sadly, in real life Scott and Lauren Graham weren't exactly BFFs. "It's fine," she told TV Guide of her relationship with him. "I think these characters have great chemistry and that does mirror our chemistry as people. We're not intimates." In fact, when asked if she and Patterson are "best friends," Graham gave a very simple "No."
Sean Gunn: Then
Sean Gunn played the ever so annoying Kirk. He was the source of amusement for the residents of Stars Hollow and often wound people up.
Sean Gunn: Now
Sean Gunn is the younger brother of filmmaker James Gunn and the pair often work on exciting projects together. Although Sean is best known for his regular Gilmore Girls role, he also has several television show guest appearance credits, including Angel, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Yes, Dear and Bunheads.
Vanessa Marano: Then
Vanessa Marano played Luke's long lost daughter April Nardini. Her school science project consisted of a paternity test which resulted in Luke finding out that he had a daughter. Unfortunately this is the reason why his relationship with Lorelai broke down, and resulted in April being the most hated kid on telly.

April, is that you? The girl's all grown up and she looks... fabulous.
Vanessa Marano was already a huge fan of Gilmore Girls when she joined the cast at 13 years old, and since then her career has gone from strength-to-strength.
She has starred on Ghost Whisperer, Grey's Anatomy and The Young and the Restless. In recent years she has starred as Bay Kennish on Switched at Birth. She will be returning to Stars Hollow for the revival and revealed to Teen Vogue some juicy details. She said April is "still quirky and weird, which I think is great. She’s an adult now. I’ve graduated college when we see her. So she’s kind of figuring out who she is as an adult. I think she went to MIT, and is still the super weird mathematician scientist who lacks a little bit in social skills. But that’s what we love about her!."
Krysten Ritter: Then
Krysten Ritter played Lucy, one of Rory's friends at Yale University. It wasn't a huge part, but she did bring Rory out of her shell.

Of course you know how Krysten Ritter is doing these days - she's pretty huge. After Gilmore Girls she has appeared as supporting roles in films such as What Happens in Vegas, 27 Dresses, Confessions of a Shopaholic, She's Out of My League, Veronica Mars and Big Eyes. She has also appeared in the hit Netflix TV show Breaking Bad.
Her biggest breakthrough came when in 2011 when she In joined the cast of Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23.
Finally, in 2014, she got her first big lead role. Krysten plays the title character, Jessica Jones, on the Netflix drama series of the same name.
Outside of acting she sings and plays guitar in a band called Ex Vivian. She dates Adam Granduciel the frontman in the rock band, The War On Drugs.
Kelly Bishop: Then
Kelly Bishop played family matriarch Emily Gilmore. After a troubled relationship with her daughter Lorelai (who left home at 16 when she got pregnant with Rory), Emily devoted a lot of her time and energy on her granddaughter Rory. She even paid for Rory's studies. Thanks to Friday Night Dinners, Emily Gilmore and Lorelai try and build bridges - but not without a few put-downs.
Kelly Bishop: Now
Kelly Bishop will always be known for the scathing role of Emily Gilmore, and for playing Baby's mum in Dirty Dancing.
After Gilmore Girls she played a lot of other mums; she was Tobey Maguire's mum in Wonder Boys back in 2000.
Kelly lives in New Jersey along with her television personality husband Lee Leonard. She is still really good friends with Lauren Graham.
Keiko Agena: Then
Keiko Agena played Lane Kim, a Korean-American teenager who was the best friend of Rory Gilmore. With a strict mum, Lane felt trapped when she discovered that she wanted to play the drums in a rock band. It's lucky that she did, because she ended up meeting her future husband and having twins.
BTW, true fans of the show were disappointed in the storyline - they wanted her to be a rockstar, not a stay-at-home mum.
Keiko Agena: Now
Did you know Keiko Agena was 26 when she played 15-year-old Lane on Gilmore Girls? She was eight years older than Alexis Bledel.
After the show she appeared in Transformers: Dark of the Moon and guest starred on Private Practice, Castle, and ER.
In a bad-ass move, Keiko married Shin Kawasaki in a helicopter over Las Vegas back in 2005.
Jared Padalecki: Then
Jared Padalecki played Rory's first boyfriend, Dean. He worked in the local store, and after a glowing early romance, it began to feel like he was holding Rory back. They broke up when he got jealous of Jess, the town's bad boy. Years later they rekindled their relationship in less than ideal circumstances: Rory lost her virginity to a now-married Dean. The affair did not last.
Jared Padecki: Now
As well as Gilmore Girls Jared Padecki is probably best known for his role as Sam Winchester on Supernatural and, depending on your terrible movie taste, the 2004 smash, New York Minute. Jared played Trey, the love interest to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
Padalecki married former Supernatural guest star Genevieve Cortese (who played the demon Ruby during the show's fourth season) in 2010 and they have two sons, and one on the way.
Jared has been public about his ongoing struggle with depression and during San Diego Comic-Con International back in 2015, more than 6,000 fans surprised Padalecki by holding up candles for him, after having revealed his battle with depression earlier that year.
David Sutcliffe: Then
David Sutcliffe played Christopher, Lorelai's childhood sweetheart and the father of their daughter, Rory. On paper he was the perfect man for Lorelai, but she couldn't deny her feelings for Luke. Also, Christopher was an unreliable asshat.
David Sutcliffe: Now
As well as Gilmore Girls David Sutcliffe has appeared in numerous TV shows such as Friends where he played Kyle in series 7 (aka Phoebe's guy who 'Hums While He Pees'), Will & Grace, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Cold Feet.
He also had a recurring role on Private Practice. As well as TV, he also starred on lots of straight-to-DVD-movies.
David married Julie McCullough, Playboy's Playmate of the Year 1983, but they divorced in 2003. It's not known whether he's dating anyone right now.
Chad Michael Murray: Then
Chad Michael Murray played the rogueish Tristan Dugray. He managed to stir up trouble between Paris and Rory.

Chad Michael Murray starred in One Tree Hill after Gilmore Girls leading to heartthrob status in the noughties. He's still very attractive, we think you'll agree.
He played war veteran and SSR agent Jack Thompson in the Marvel series Agent Carter, and has also had starring roles in the films Freaky Friday alongside Lindsay Lohan, A Cinderella Story alongside Hillary Duff, and House of Wax with Paris Hilton.
He co-wrote a romance novel with actress Heather Graham. Random, huh? He's reportedly working on a new novel as we speak.
In more recent years Chad mainly attracted headlines about his love life. He was famously married to his One Tree Hill co-star Sophia Bush but they divorced after five months of marriage. He has dated lots of his co-stars since, but has recently settled down with his co-star on Chosen. Chad and Sarah Roemer are engaged, and have one child.
Adam Brody: Then
Adam Brody played the ever so sweet Dave Rygalski. He played in a band and fell for Lane - though he had to sweet talk her mum first. He ended up pretending that he played in a church band to get brownie points. It worked.
Adam Brody: Now
We'll always have a soft spot for Adam Brody. He left Gilmore Girls because he got a better offer - playing Seth Cohen on The O,C. This led to a love affair that would last for approximately five years, and resulted in him being described as TV's sexiest geek.
He has appeared in many films, including Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Jennifer's Body, In the Land of Women, Cop Out, and Scream 4.
In 2011 he appeared in The Oranges alongside Leighton Meester, who is now his wife and the mother of their daughter Arlo. Before Leighton, he was famously involved with Rachel Bilson, his co-star on The O.C.
Aside from acting, Brody is credited as a musician and writer, stating that he writes screenplays and songs during his spare time.
Yanic Truesdale: Then
Yanic Truesdale played Lorelai's right-hand man at the Inn, grumpy French concierge Michel Gerard. He worked with Lorelai and Sookie at the inn, and his words were sharp as a knife. The show hinted that Michel was gay, but never confirmed it. We did know that he was constantly on a diet - remember when he drank full-fat milk instead of skinny milk? It was like the end of the world.
Yanic Truesdale: Now
After the end of Gilmore Girls, Yanic Truesdale moved home to Montreal to open a spin studio. His roles since the show have mostly been in French language TV shows.
Melissa McCarthy: Then
Melissa McCarthy played Lorelai's best friend, and business partner, Sookie St. James. A chef at the Inn, Sookie was known for her obsession with the perfect menu, and her tricky relationship with Michel.

Where do we start? Melissa McCarthy is without a doubt the most successful of the Gilmore Girls cast. She dominates the big roles in Hollywood, she took on the remake of Ghostbusters, she created a fashion line catering for plus size women, and she founded her own production company.
Immediately after Gilmore Girls Melissa starred as Dena on the TV sitcom Samantha Who? and took the lead in another, Mike and Molly. for six seasons But it was 2011's hit comedy Bridesmaids that catapulted her to A-list territory. Since then, she starred in the action comedy film Spy, The Boss and Ghostbusters.
Melissa married her longtime boyfriend, Ben Falcone, an actor, in 2005. The couple have two daughters, Vivian and Georgette. You'll recognise Ben as he often makes cameos in Melissa's movies - he even starred in an episode of Gilmore Girls back in season 3.
On 7 April 2016, Melissa announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she would be returning for the Gilmore Girls revival on Netflix
Milo Ventimiglia: Then
Milo Ventimiglia played the brooding bad boy Jess Mariano who fell for Rory Gilmore. Jess was sent to Stars Hollow by his mum, who thought time with his uncle, Luke, would straighten him out. Did it work? After some time, definitely.

Oh man, there was supposed to be a Gilmore Girls spin-off all about Jess, but it never aired. Milo signed on for the show - titled Windward Circle - and it was supposed to focus on the relationship between Jess and his estranged father (played by Rob Estes).
Not to worry, we've had plenty of Milo Ventimiglia air-time. He's been on Heroes, and in mid-2007 he starred as the love interest of singer Fergie in the music video for Big Girls Don't Cry.
We've already told you that he dated his Gilmore Girls co-star Alexis Bledel for a few years - hopefully it wasn't awkward when they had to film scenes together for the new Gilmore Girls series.
Ventimiglia also dated his Heroes co-star Hayden Panettiere from December 2007 to February 2009. It would appear that he's single right now.
