Fruits of the forest: the ultimate berry lip guide
The past two seasons have honed in on berry lips like no other. The trend took centre stage during the SS16 shows and has only grown in popularity for AW16.
The best thing about berry lips from the past two seasons is the range of shades which can be worn. It's no longer just about wearing a daring matte red lip, or a dark crimson colour; you can pick and choose and always feel on trend. From deep blackcurrant tones at Burberry Prorsum SS16 to bright strawberry shades at Maison Margiela and Saint Laurent AW16, there's an option for everyone, no matter what your colour preference.
Indeed, wearing a dark berry shade can sometimes seem a little intimidating. SJ Froom, bareMinerals International Makeup Artist, suggests the following:
"The key for a modern berry lip this summer is to keep the rest of the face minimal - fresh skin and a groomed brow always works well. Also, it's not about being perfectly groomed this season - try a berry stain or concentrate on the darker colour in the centre of the lips and blur outwards."
