11 street style trends we'll all be wearing this season thanks to fashion week's chicest attendees
It may have momentarily snowed this week, and there may still be a couple of flood warnings in place, but we're not letting this tumultuous weather get us down. We've spied a blue sky and run with it, as has - it seems - the entire fashion week crowd.
By no means dressing for February, the street style set have been showcasing some seriously spring-appropriate looks over the last few weeks as they trotted from New York to London, followed by Milan and Paris. But we're not complaining.
What may have initially seemed like nothing more than series of chilly outings for these brave women was, in fact, a perfect forecasting of our new season wardrobes. And we're pleased to report that things look a lot brighter...
From exposed shoulders to puffed sleeves and floral coats - via some seriously statement collars, giant bags and "boot-tucks" - we managed to peel our beady eyes off the runway for a moment or two in order to scout out some of the coolest trends from the front row.

Whether a single-reveal or full-blown double-exposure, getting the cold shoulder is only good news this season with the fashion week set showcasing exactly how it can pack a punch. Venture tentatively via a casually dropped sleeve to ease yourself in.

We predicted the transition from micro bags to some pretty major ones a few months back, but we could have only ever dreamed to see such whoppers out in the wild. Fashion week street style proved that giant bags are an entirely viable option.

We hate to brag, truly we do, but we also predicted the rise of the wrapped anklethe minute September's SS20 shows closed. The way to wear it right now is by cinching wide-leg cuffs of a smart trouser.

Guess what? The puffed sleeve is another trend that was inevitably set to dominate the street style crowd. Whether you're into more feminine puffs bookending a floaty dress, or a cooler takes on a sweater or even a crisp shirt, it's wise to look to swollen sleeves from now until autumn.

The collar will be one of your most powerful weapons this season. Whether attached to a shirt or a mere insert (a 21st century triumph), OTT incarnations elevate even the most basic look into something entirely more polished. Layer atop everything from jackets to sweatshirts, and even other shirts, for full impact.

An unexpectedly popular look front row this season has been full multicolour. Amidst the industry's current obsession with neutrals, such full-on shades introduced a refreshing and welcome injection of fun and frivolity to the mix.

Perhaps not one for the mad-dash to the tube, the ever-impractical floor-grazing white coat is huge news right now. We recommend saving this one for elite occasions - think fancy date nights, important meetings and those family occasions when you want to get a sartorial one-up on your cousin.

Black, brown, both... however you wear your leather this season, be sure to double up. Opt for a vest/waistcoat style with a soft cotton layer beneath for a more gentle introduction to the look.

Perhaps it's because it looks super chic, or perhaps it's because this month of fashion week's fell during a whole lot of thunderous downpours, but the trousers-tucked-into-knee-high-boots was a real #vibe this season. Anything to save dragging those hemlines along a wet pavement.

In total contrast to the aforementioned neutral cream outerwear, serious floral action also adorned a series of coats sashaying their way to the biggest front rows. The trick is to keep the rest of your look simple in print. In terms of colour, feel free to be as bold as you dare.

Back to regular programming, as we indulge in an entirely neutral colour palette. If bold florals and multicolour aren't for you, stick to a blend of creams and whites for the dreamiest, butteriest look.
