Why? IT’S SO FUNNY. This British comedy, directed by Tanya Wexler, is about how Mortimer Granville first devised the invention of the vibrator, and features a stellar performance from a seriously respectable cast. Who knew Maggie Gyllenhaal could do English quite so well?

Why? Claire Danes made a serious career comeback in the first series of this crime thriller. Plus, it’s got Damian Lewis in it. And he’s a bit of a winner.
