Dannii Minogue's Style Evolution

How our cover girl's look has changed over three decades of fashion
Rex Features1986: Dannii strikes a cheeky pose with sister Kylie on a preview of young talent for the promotion of Neighbours. Strangely enough, the 80s trends have swung back into fashion, so we give a thumbs up to the Minogue’s early style inclinations!
Rex FeaturesFast-forward to 1990 and a ‘funky’ looking Dannii takes to the Logie Awards red carpet in high-waisted trousers, a metallic top and Vanilla Ice-inspired accessories. Not our cover girl's finest hour, but we admire her dare-to-be-different approach.
Rex FeaturesWith personality a-plenty, Dannii performs a cheeky flash at the Hangin With The Homeboys premiere in 1991. The trend treadmill may have revived underwear as outerwear, but we’re not fans of her high-waisted netball skirt.
Rex FeaturesA look typical of the early 90s, Dannii mixes classic tartan and Hell's-Angels-style leather for a girl-gone-bad look.
Rex FeaturesYou’re forgiven for falling into rapturous laughter! Forget her Play Bus look, it's the dolphin who stole the limelight in this shot.
Rex FeaturesStill showing off her envied abs, Dannii opts for a downtown diva look for the opening of Planet Hollywood in London. Granted its 1993, so we can excuse the odd flared leggings and crop top combo.
Rex FeaturesThe starlet ditched her long dark hair for a sexy blonde crop and headed straight for business-like pencil skirts. Sadly, red PVC is not a trend we’ll be trying at home.
Rex FeaturesHer blonde crop went all Marilyn Monroe, as the star reached for sophisticated houndstooth threads with a touch of fur – very classic screen siren!
Rex FeaturesDannii finds her fashion feet in a sheer top and metallic mini skirt in 1998 at the UK premiere of As Good As It Gets – from this point on the star’s style-savvy nature really started to kick-in.
Rex FeaturesAt a racing rally in 1999, our cover girl went for comfy denim casuals, but still managed to look sweet and sexy. The secret’s in the smile.
Rex FeaturesDannii turned into a fashion renegade in 2000, and her penchant for experimenting with quirky hairstyles really took off – remember how bang on-trend it was to have dyed tips?! Her classic satin evening gown was the perfect frock for the Notre Dame De Paris opening.
Rex FeaturesThe star's theatrical wardrobe for Notre Dame De Paris included some racy high hemlines and thigh-splits – fast forward to the present day, and Dannii's reworking these sassy styles for her X Factor wardrobe.
Rex FeaturesOnly a year on and the star started to experiment with messy up ’dos, pretty prom dresses and fancy footwear to great effect.
Rex FeaturesAll hail the sex bomb that is Dannii Minogue! A confident, sun-kissed star had cemented herself as a fashion go-getter; no hemline was too high and no clutch too glitzy – love this look!
Rex FeaturesThe singer’s brief fling with the sexy senorita look was (thankfully) short-lived and didn’t bode well with her fashion critics, but Dannii’s vast wardrobe bounced back soon after.
Rex FeaturesOnly Dannii could pull off this figure hugging, midriff-revealing party outfit. Although we’re not fans of the tiered bouquets of fabric, she pulls off the look with her signature sweet smile.
Rex FeaturesBad clothes can happen to good people, or so it seems at Party In The Park, London 2003. The dress, the leggings and the matching baby pink accessories are a no-no.
Rex FeaturesNow, here’s the Dannii we know and love! She sported a long orange maxi dress to great effect, thanks to her bright blue eyes and sun-kissed glow.
Rex FeaturesDannii took a break from high hemlines at a sophisticated garden soiree in summer 2006. Although we love her flawless colour co-ordination, we can't help but think that the star was not showing off her fabulous figure enough.
Rex FeaturesAs the star hit the British charts in 2006, her style stock went up thanks to a string of look-at-me outfits and bold beauty choices. We love the matching nail enamel – nice touch!
Rex FeaturesDannii’s always been a firm favourite at GLAMOUR, so we were thrilled when the star sparkled on our red carpet in a jaw-dropping crystal-encrusted white evening gown. Full marks – this look is flawless.
Rex FeaturesArriving at the X Factor rehearsals, Dannii put together an applause worthy outfit that consisted of a patent Mulberry tote, neon heels and a strapless dress. Fabulous, simply fabulous!
Rex Features2008: With a shorter, sexy hair 'do and sultry black eye make-up, the star beams on the Bafta red carpet.
Rex FeaturesDannii sports her new-found signature style in this sexy metallic dress and cheeky fingergless gloves. We love a fashion renegade that dares to be different!
Rex FeaturesDays after announcing her pregnancy, Dannii stole the limelight at the National Television Awards in a statement, monochrome dress and lush red heels.
BigLooking every inch the yummy mummy-to-be, Dannii arrived in Sydney to film Australia’s Got Talent in this nautical jersey tee by Laden, skinnies and a bang-on-trend camel-coloured tote – proving that off-duty dressing needn’t be dull.
RexLovingly cradling her bump, Dannii looked glamorous yet cool in this ethnic, embellished maternity top, teamed with an edgy, nude leather jacket, obligatory oversized sunnies and a Louis Vuitton bag.
PANow a fully-fledged fashion designer, Dannii modelled her growing bump in one of her own dresses from new clothing range, Project D, back in April 2010. The X Factor judge revealed that the skin-tight dress didn't need any alteration for her new figure: "This one's stretched sequin thankfully so it goes over the bump!” We can only dream we’ll look this fabulous when pregnant.
Rex FeaturesPositively glowing in a flatteringly-frilled azure-blue and matching nail polish at her baby shower in July 2010, Dannii completed the look with tousled locks and a slick of show-stopping red lipstick.
BigLooking cool and edgy in skinnies with knee-high winter boots, new mum Dannii added some interest to her off-duty outfit with an oversized studded bag and a cute polka dot scarf.
With the X Factor live shows kicking off this weekend, we literally cannot wait to see what our cover girl will wear next!
