Women's cowboy boots remain the fashion set's faves – here are 15 we're shopping
Featured in this article
We spotted them on the boldest street-style stars last year, and it’s clear that they aren't going anywhere for AW25; the best women's cowboy boots are the official-unofficial footwear of choice for another season running – for everyone from fashion editors to Beyoncé (AKA Cowboy Carter) herself.
The good news? There’s not a single designer or high street brand that hasn't hopped on the movement, meaning if you've not already treated yourself to a pair of Western boots you're about to.
We admit, they are a little trickier to wear than sneakers (if only for their lack of ubiquity), but if you're musing over how to wear classic cowboy boots, an important point to note is that, while the best cowgirl boots don't come with a rule book, the success of your overall look relies solely on what you choose to wear them with.
Where previously we were taught to leave everything else remotely Western-related at the ranch (so to speak), and to avoid pairing them with gingham prints, cowboy hats and denim fabrics, we now have free rein entirely.
Take last year's runways of Molly Goddard and Louis Vuitton for example; from shirts with contrasting seams and embroidered yokes to studded suede leather jackets, the cowboy trend says go big or go home. But if you're not a die-hard western fan we've also seen designers like IFM make a case for pairing them with a paired back t-shirt look. Basically, anything goes.
Elsewhere, echoing the traditional tooled leather details of authentic cowboy boots again, this we're seeing stacked Cuban heels (which slant slightly) and elongated pointed toes as key details. From there, though, its a free-for-all. Whether you're looking for knee-high or ankle boots, there's a style for every preference.
Traditional black, tan, dark brown and sandy shades are all valid colours if you’re looking to add a pair of cowboy boots to your everyday rotations – even more so if you're still apprehensive and don't want to go too bold too fast – but we’ve also spotted gold, silver and colour-block iterations. This isn't our first rodeo.
