8 Scandi trends straight from Copenhagen Fashion Week that we'll all be trying out next season
While you might think that the fashion world is only just gearing up for show season - with the ‘big four’ fashion capitals preparing for their AW22 showcases - Copenhagen Fashion Week has in fact just wrapped, and it has set the bar high for the rest of the industry.
While London, Paris, Milan and New York are, of course, the well-known power players when it comes to fashion week, the Scandi set - specifically Copenhagen and Stockholm - have over the last few years managed to impress even the most famously difficult-to-please buyers and editors, and have in turn infiltrated the traditional schedule by becoming among the most-anticipated showcases on the fashion calendar.
Well, with the likes of Ganni, Saks Potts, Stine Goya, Baum Und Pferdgarten, By Malene Birger and Holzewiler on the schedule, are you surprised?
Of course, Copenhagen's appeal isn't only the looks making their way down the catwalks. Having made a name for itself over recent seasons as the go-to for epic street style, there is as much sartorial inspo on display on the pavements outside the venues as there is on the runways.

Thanks, in large part, to the likes of Emili Sindlev, Nnenna, Pernille Teisbaek, Jeanette Madsen, and Hanna Stefansson, the street style in Copenagen is entirely unmatched - with bold, bright colour at the top of everyone's agenda.
But these fashion fans don't get dressed up for nothing. So what are they being inspired by inside these major show venues?
For AW22 things are looking particularly cosy, with bulky boots, supersized scarves and clever quilting taking over the runway. Of course it wasn't all about practicality, with some of the sexiest, skimpiest knits taking centre stage and offering up a surprisingly optimistic forecast for autumn/winter.

Colour-wise it's all about contrast, with some undeniably chic winter whites being shown alongside some seriously punchy acid brights.
We'd never wish away summer but… maybe things are looking up for next winter already?
