Coachella 2015: The key fashion trends
Sifting through Coachella style is no mean feat - a high proportion of festival-goers tend to treat the desert destination as an opportunity to go Halloween Boho, piling on the nose ring, bindi, body chain and feather headdress all at once with abandon. However, that doesn't mean there aren't some serious style notes to take away and as the first festival of the season, the trends in the Coachella field will have legs all summer long.
Below are our top six picks of the festival trends to wear now - and we promise, there's not a fringed waistcoat in sight:

Clean, serene and obviously highly impractical. Head to toe white is a classic summer option, but we haven’t seen it dominate in a festival context before. If it’s a muddy Glastonbury, it may be inadvisable, but nothing says summer style better than white, as shown by Alexa Chung in her See By Chloe dress.

Whether it’s a tailored Stella McCartney number or frayed edge Acne frock, an elevated denim dress is a great festival option as it is hardy and timelessly cool. Keep accessories to a minimum for best effect.

Lady
Festivals have become the venue to go all Sienna and waft around in a maxi dress, but some of Coachella’s most stylish were opting for ultra chic 50s style day dresses, a la Harley Viera Newton – a total volte face from what is expected. We like.

The Printed Jersey Flare
This is the number one Coachella update and can look seriously scary from afar. Click on to any festival hub on any shopping site right now and you will see the printed jersey flare. Part legging, part flare, normally high waisted and worn with a crop top, this is the most ‘festival’ of the new looks and guaranteed to be seen in every music field this summer. Approach with caution.

Deep Cut Swimsuits
Worn as a top, with maxi skirts and shorts, the deep cut swimsuit has become a major festival option. Slightly risqué, but also just sporty enough to get away with it, the DCS is a strong option for the minimal of chest.
