These are the most popular fashion brands right now and the celebs that made it happen
When it comes to fashion, the role of influencers is something that is sewn into our everyday lives. Whether it's celebs rocking some not-yet-available designer piece, or a fashion-forward blogger showing off their Gucci belt, one scroll through your Instagram feed and you can see the power of an influential post. But what does it all really mean? Well, fashion e-commerce site Lyst might have a pretty simple answer: search. According to their most recent data, some of the top-searched brands correlate to moments when celebrities and influencers wore them.
Think about it: when you see your favorite style star wearing a new item, you're probably going to look it up because if nothing else, you're at least curious about the price. And, with that simple two-second search, the brand becomes that much more popular.
From Gucci on Beyoncé to Selena Gomez in Vetements, these are the most-searched brands and the moments that helped it happen.

According to Lyst's data, Gucci is one of the most consistently searched brands today, which makes sense because you see it all over the place. It's so ubiquitous amongst celebrities that it's actually hard for them to pinpoint a singular moment that's had a significant impact. If we had to guess, though, I'm sure Beyoncé's OTR II tour look helped a little bit.

French brand Vetements seemingly came out of nowhere but somehow, with their hoodies and reworked logos, the brand made it to the top of the list. According to Lyst's data, in 2016, when Selena Gomez wore a red Vetements tracksuit back they saw a 410% spike in searches for Vetements tracksuits.

The Fendi Zucca logo is more popular than ever before. When celebs like Kylie Jenner (and Stormi by proxy) rock head-to-toe Fendi logos, searches sky-rocket. And while a Kylie Jenner-endorsed Fendi look might set you back about a few paychecks, right now, Lyst says that the Fendi logo tights are their most-wanted items from the fashion house right now. Though certainly not cheap for tights, they're one of the more affordable Fendi styles, clocking in around $250

Off-White quickly became one of the most-coveted fashion brands in the industry. Designer Virgil Abloh was catapulted into the world of street style, and his collaborations and drops are some of the hottest in the industry. One of his biggest fans, Rihanna, definitely helped in making the brand a household name. According to Lyst, when Rihanna wore a look by Virgil on Instagram, the site "saw searches for Off-White increase 370% week on week." They also added that "the Off-White blouse she wore was viewed more than 3,000 times in the following 2 days."

Prada captures the luxury fashion crowd with ease and collaborates with influencers that fit right into that mold. Lyst says that "after Chiara Ferragni posted a shot with her Prada belt bag, we saw searches for Prada belt bags increase 170%."

Balenciaga is always making headlines for their head-scratching collaborations, and seemingly out-of-nowhere riffs (we're still wondering where that Bernie Sanders collection came from). But when a celebrity wears their styles, Balenciaga mania spreads like wildfire.
In July 2018, Taylor Swift stepped out in New York City wearing one of their polarizing designs, and guess what? Searches went through the roof. According to the site, "less than 2 days later, we’ve seen searches for this exact hoodie increase 112%."
