We take a look at the celebrity couples who've broken it off only to work it out and rekindle that old flame.

Putting months of media speculation to rest by stepping out at the 2011 Oscars together, Justin and Selena were the teen dream couple. However, the course of true love ne'er did run smooth and a year later the two called it quits – but not before getting it back together by March 2012. However, despite reconciliation, these two ultimately didn't make it and finally called time on their romance in early 2013.

Despite having one of the longest-lasting courtships in Celebdom, Téa and former X Files star David got hitched after just 8 weeks of dating. However, after his much-publicised battle with sex addiction, the two confirmed that they had separated in 2008 – but not before working it out by the following year and renewing their vows. Alas, these two were eventually not to be, splitting once again in 2011.

These two are on and off more than a light switch at the moment. After tying the knot in 1993, Billy Ray filed for divorce from his missus in October 2010, citing that ol' celeb favourite “irreconcilable differences” - however, by March 2011 Cyrus announced that the two had rekindled the flame and all divorce proceedings had been dropped. But by 2013, Tish filed for divorce this time but come the end of the summer, the two had reportedly reconciled. Again.

Getting together in 1989 – just after his divorce from Madonna – Robin and Sean got hitched in 1996 after welcoming two children together. However, by the late 2000s their courtship had gone through a number of reported rocky spells with divorce plans announced in early 2007. But four months later, it appeared that the celebrity couple had changed their minds and withdrew them. While all seemed well and good on the marital front - with Robin appearing at Sean's side when he bagged the Best Actor at the 2009 Oscars - just a few short months later Penn filed for divorce again. This was also withdrawn by the end of the summer that same year before Wright called time on their romance once and for all, with the divorce being finalised in 2010.

Pamela Anderson married drummer Tommy Lee in February 1995, after knowing him for 96 hours. Despite the couple welcoming two sons during their union – and Pammy famously changing her stage name to Pamela Anderson Lee, the relationship was not without its hiccups. Anderson filed for divorce from Lee twice and reconciled with him twice, before the couple finally divorced in 1998. However, after ten years apart, Lee revealed in 2008 that the two would give their love another go. Aaaw.

Despite being only 20-years-old, Miley Cyrus has had the fair share of up and downs with fiancé Liam Hemsworth over the past few years. The two met on the set of The Last Song in 2009, but announced that they had called it quits by the following summer. Proving true love will out though, the two got back on track and in 2012 they announced their engagement.

After a much-publicized break-up and subsequent divorce from British comedian Russell Brand, Katy found love again with John Mayer (The Player). Whilst we were wary about Katy's July 2012 hook-up with one of showbiz's most prolific lotharios (and one of the least discreet), it appeared that the two were pretty keen on each other turning up to a number of events after a brief split in August that same year. However in March 2013, multiple sources confirmed that it was all over before reconciling by the summer and recording a track called Who You Love for his latest album.

Of course y'all know that they met on the set of Cleopatra in 1963 and married soon after. The two were married for ten years before divorcing in 1974 but testament to their much-documented fiery relationship, it was all back on within a year and the two remarried – sixteen months after they divorced (and we'll be leaving the story there for all you romantics out there).

While, Fox later denied these reports, stating that they had been engaged without a break since 2006 and proving all their critics wrong, the couple married later that month in June 2010 in Maui and are about to welcome their second child together in 2013.

Maybe one of the cutest couples to have reconciled, we've been rooting for these two from the off. After P!nk (newly upgraded spelling of Pink obvs) took it upon herself to propose to her motocross racing boyfriend whilst he was actually competing (yeah, it totally caused him to veer off the track), the two tied the knot in 2006 before announcing their separation in 2008. However, the couple remained super close with Hart appearing in her music videos and by early 2010 they had worked it out and were very much back together. A year later the pair welcomed their first child and they’re still going strong, so all is well that ends well.

After meeting on the set of Jumper (worst name ever for a movie?) in 2007, O.C. favourite Bilson started up with the guy from the Star Wars prequels. The most famous pair to have ever “taken a break” is surely the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who called time on their uni romance in 2007. He said “we were both very young; it was at university... Undoubtedly the most controversial reunion of the list has to be the one between Rihanna and Chris Brown. When the Beautiful People hitmaker was charged with felony assault the world was pretty horrified which was why their reconciliation in 2013 was met with a considerable amount of brouhaha, shall we say. Despite saying: "He's not the monster everybody thinks. He's a good person. He has a fantastic heart. He's giving and loving. And he's fun to be around. That's what I love about him - he always makes me laugh. All I want to do is laugh, really - and I do that with him," the two nevertheless called it off again in May of that year.
