GLAMOUR takes you inside the lavish £5.3m Winter 2020 Love Island villa with all the secrets straight from Cape Town

If you thought the idea of taking a six-week sabbatical from work to flirt with fellow singletons in the sun (with the potential of winning £50,000 thrown in for good measure), was tempting enough, this season's edition of Love Island just turned it up a notch.

For winter 2020, the islanders will be based in a super luxe villa in Cape Town, South Africa, and GLAMOUR was one of the first to get a behind the scenes tour of the new haunt.

Drenched in sun, this year's villa is the Mallorcan hideout on steroids. Set across several levels - and with an incredible view of the city and its surrounding mountains, the villa is the most luxe yet.

Everything you need to know about Love Island's winter edition

The Cape Town villa will be patrolled by armed guards following a recent gang shooting but GLAMOUR can attest that the area is more akin to the Hollywood Hills than gang land.

Here are a few musings we have after being treated to a full tour of the new villa courtesy of the producers...

• The villa is super safe; it's set in a lavish area that reminded us of the Hollywood Hills. Security is tight and anyone who enters has to sterlise their hands first!

• The villa is the most epic yet. Set across three levels, the producers hope the extra space will give the islanders the opportunity to engage in more secret chats and crack on in private. They are also using the levels to introduce bombshells in the coming weeks.

• The guys have been treated to their very first dressing room so they don't have to iron their clothes at the end of the bedroom again.

• The villa is emblazoned with Love Island-y catchphrases the producers think will become key parts of our vocab this year - including 'vibey', 'felt cute, might delete it later' and 'higher love'.

• The hideaway is pretty damn extra and comes complete with a plush bed, private terrace, double shower (oi, oi) and a secret cupboard where the producers can leave treats such as champagne and strawberries dipped in chocolate.

• The bathroom is stocked with an incredible array of beauty goodies, provided by Lookfantastic.com - think Garnier face masks, Loveburst makeup and L'Oréal for men skincare.
