Over drinks last night, the hot topic at the table was where everyone was “summering" as everyone flocks to Expedia to book their May Bank Holiday escapes or August retreats. And once the flights and hotels are sorted, we all know what comes next—the 'fits, of course.

One thing you need to know about me is that I'm a beach baby through and through. Ski trips and countryside staycations are great and all, but I don't truly feel like I'm on holiday until my feet are in the sand and there's coconut all over the menus.

All this to say, I've been on my fair share of hot holidays and know a thing or two about the best resortwear brands out there. Recently, I've just come back from the palm tree-lined shores of Sri Lanka and have gotten quite a few compliments on the new beachwear label I brought along with me, which I'm excited to share with you alongside fashion girl-favourites that never fail to dazzle us with their new summery staples.

My go-to resortwear labels hail from all over the world, from Colombia to Australia and all feature high-quality materials, luxurious designs and most importantly, are just lots of fun to wear.

Missoni
When it comes to stylish stripes, no one does it better than Missoni. The historic Italian label was founded in 1953 but their designs feel more modern than ever, and are still being worn by fashion's favourite jet-setters for a reason. From chevron-printed mini-dresses to striped lamé jumpsuits, their immediately recognisable prints have a retro twist to them that means any piece can easily be whipped out again in decades to come. There's nothing like lounging under a scalloped umbrella in vintage Missoni, White Lotus-style.
Leslie Amon
A brand that continues to evolve and surprise every season, Leslie Amon, founded by Swiss-Egyptian designer Leslie Cohen Amon has become the go-to for fashion-forward resortwear with a twist. Think: beaded mini dresses, crochet tunics and bikini sets. Their sold-out, polka-dot, A-lined dress embodies the effortless elegance of the brand (and is now available again for pre-order, run don't walk).
The 87
Tight on luggage space? I swear by The 87's sarong sets that take up zero space in the suitcase and can be worn so many different ways. Founded in London in 2023 by graphic artist Zoë Zimmer, the sarongs feature bold, art-deco patterns heavily inspired by vintage posters that make the beach cover-ups statement pieces in their own right.
Sir the Label
Founded in 2014 by Nikki Campbell and Sophie Coote, Aussie brand Sir the Label is known for its clean-cut silhouettes and minimalist designs. Simple, slip dresses are transformed with muted floral prints and easy separates in graphic stripes making them the perfect mix-and-match companions to any balmy destination.
Osereé
Oséree's resortwear counts A-listers like Rihanna as fans for good reason. Founders Isabella Cavallin and Jannine Vinci conceived the brand to cater to the woman who lounges at a Ibizan beach club by day and swans into an elegant dinner at night, with a line of feather-cuffed dresses and bejewelled bikinis that take you from day to late into the night.
Jacquemus
Simon Porte Jacquemus' cult fashion label is synonymous with the South of France, where the designer was born and on which much of his collections are based. Sun-soaked knit dresses and OTT straw hats being his signature, you'd be hard-pressed to find beach destination where his designs aren't present. I personally rate his canvas tote bags with a gold ring detail that counts Kylie Jenner as a fan.
Faithfull the Brand
The best part about Faithfull's designs? How easily the linen dresses and separates can be worn alone during the summer and layered under knits for autumn. Manufactured in Bali, Indonesia and designed by Australian Sarah-Jane Abrahams and Norwegian Helle Them-Enger, the founding team's international origins seeps through the brand's universally flattering prints and shapes. Faded stripes and wallpaper florals are at the core of Faithfull's latest vintage-inspired collection.
Farm Rio
This vibrant, Brazilian fashion brand best known for its punchy, tropical prints and joyful designs also happens to be one of the most sustainable. From flowy dresses to chic swimsuits, the pieces are made with eco-conscious materials and focus on ethical production, perfect for the modern Bohemian looking for comfortable yet chic pieces to float around the resort in. My personal favourites from the new collection include a mango-coloured linen dress with a bouquet of flowers printed along the skirt and a lace eyelet shirt that will take you just about anywhere this summer.
Cult Gaia
Jasmin Larian Hekmat's label Cult Gaia has become one of fashion's favourite resortwear labels since it was founded in 2012. Featuring avant-garde, sculptural designs, and statement pieces and accessories (remember the iconic Ark bag?), Cult Gaia's looks are perfect for an Ibizan night or wedding afterparty. I swear by the clutches that look just as beautiful on the arm as they do on a coffee table.
Cala de la Cruz
The word “cala", in Spanish, means a small rounded bay where the sea calmly sets, and this is exactly what Columbian label Cala de la Cruz's pieces evoke. Imagine lounging in the warm sun wearing one of the brand's delicious plunging dresses in artistic, abstract prints. Founder and creative director Carolina Lopez is a passionate textile designer who graduated from The Savannah College of Art and Design and her bold illustrations on flattering silhouettes are what drew me to the label; I wore one of the dresses on a recent trip to Sri Lanka and got so many compliments!
Zimmermann
The much-loved Aussie label founded by sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann is best known for its floaty gowns and laidback elegance. Lace-lined dresses and sheer, diaphanous gowns featuring elements of bohemian and vintage-inspired details are what fashion lovers flock to the brand for. It's no wonder Zimmermann's fans include A-listers like Katie Holmes and Rose Byrne.
Siedrés
Ceylin Bilge, the co-founder of Turkish brand Siedrés honours age-old Turkish textile production methods through her cult resortwear label now known for its ‘90s-inspired lace tops and psychedelic, '70s graphics. Hailey Bieber and Emily Ratajkowski have been spotted all over their summer vacays in their patchwork prints and slinky separates, making Siedrés the official go-to resortwear label for cool girls.
