Larry King
Address: 34-36 Harrington Road, London, SW7 3ND
It's not often you can have a session stylist cut your hair, but when not on shoots for uber-clients such as Pixie Lott and Neelam Gill, you can book in with Larry at his cool salon hang-out. The rest of his team are some of the best in the game too (Harriet Muldoon is London's queen of blonde), and various members of the Glamour team have been loyal Larry King clients for a number of years. We can assure you, you're in the very best hands. Don't miss the brand's swanky new salon on Marylebone Lane.
Alex Barron-HoughStil Salon
Address: 99-103 Fulham Road, London SW3 6RW
Renowned colourist and founder of Stil salon, Christel Barron-Hough, is a blonde pro. She clocked immediately that I needed a colour that could incorporate regrowth, as my hectic schedule does not allow for frequent salon visits.
We settled on icy blonde highlights to blend with my almost white roots and then a darker blonde lowlights around the hairline to make the most of the natural blonde I have left. I loved the result. It felt bright, flattering and contemporary and after receiving a lot of hair compliments, a return trip was a given.
I am now a loyal follower and would describe her as the Queen of Scandi blonde, but that’s not to say she doesn’t do a great job for brunettes, as you‘ll also see many in the salon. She's also adept at creating beautiful pastel tones or colour transformations, as are her team of highly skilled colourists and stylists.

Brooks & Brooks
Address: Brooks & Brooks, 28 Great Queen Street, London, WC2B 5BB.
"I've been very lucky to have my hair cut in lots of London salons – all of them wonderful – but I've never been happier with a restyle than I was when I stepped out of Brooks & Brooks earlier this year. I hadn't had my hair trimmed in almost a year (shameful, I know), so the team had their work cut out.
Marlon Hawkins, the salon's Artistic Director, decided to refresh my balayage, add bangs and give my lengths a choppier finish; the entire process was a total dream. My hair looked healthier than it had in years – and since visiting, the cut and colour have been easy to style myself.
The salon itself reflects both the rich history of the location and the innovative spirit of the artistic team. It's home to various artistic hair stylists from different backgrounds who have combined experience which spans decade. I will, most definitely, be back.

“It’s like being backstage, where you can have a team of creatives working on one person; colour, styling, nails, make-up and brows are delivered in one seamless session” says Josh. And for those clients who can’t make it into the Atelier? “We can come to you,” says Josh. Think of it as your very own glam squad.

Gennaro Dell'Aquila
Address: 154 Arthur Rd, SW19 8AQ
From the moment I stepped inside Gennaro Dell'Aquila's Wimbledon salon, I felt zen. Upstairs: the main, light-flooded salon space with floor-to-ceiling windows and the comfiest leather chairs. Downstairs was a space dedicated to hair wash and scalp massage, as well as a sun-drenched courtyard garden from which you can escape to between treatments.
GA's philosophy is based around a deeper understanding of natural, curative products, and their 20 signature blends – inclusive of all of their hair dyes – are made using nothing but 100% natural and organic herbs, roots and flowers. The blends are then crafted and mixed around the individual for a truly bespoke service.
I came out with the softest hair: perfectly styled and wonderfully-coloured. My colour has grown-out gradually and naturally. GA Salons also own three other properties: Chelsea, South Kensington and Notting Hill.

Salon Sloane
Address: 186 Pavilion Rd, London SW3 2BF.
Salon Sloane has been one of my favourite hair salons in London for years – and it's almost certainly my most-visited. It's a relatively small salon which is noisy, vibrant and bursting with life – set a stones-throw away from Sloane Square and Peter Jones department store.
If it's a world-class team of hair dressers that you're after, absolutely look no further. The Sloane Square team have been fortunate enough to style everyone from George and Amal Clooney to Lindsay Lohan and the Victoria's Secret Angels.
When I arrived, my hair hadn’t been coloured for a solid 10 months. Luckily, Sophie MacCorquodale – favoured colourist of Scarlett Johansson – was on hand to inject some life back into my hair. I left feeling over the moon with the results. Prices start from £135 for a cut and blow-dry.
