Who needs uber expensive hair care when it comes to this good for under a fiver? I admit I was sceptical about adding hyaluronic acid to hair care, there's been a recent trend for ‘skinification’ of hair care that has seemed more of a marketing gimmick, than of benefit to hair. However, the softening, silkifying properties of this range convinced me to stock up on a second bottle at the airport on a recent trip away.

Drunk Elephant A-Gloei Maretinol Oil, £63, Boots
Depending on how it's formulated, retinol can be drying on skin and requires me to slather on hydrating serums or thicker creams to compensate, so this oil formula had my interest from the word go. With a low-dose 0.5% vegan retinol it's a good starting point for retinol newbies and the oil texture feels like a more indulgent way to apply retinol, while also counteracting the dryness.
