Autumn/Winter 2015 Hair Trend Report: The best styles to try

The Autumn/Winter 2015 catwalks saw an array of great new hair trends, including new hair styles, cuts and colours.
Some of our favourite new trends included the cute braids and plaits, cool wet-look hair and experimental bold colours, such as the pink hues at Gucci and the white-blonde washes at Temperley London.
The new season also saw a return of poker straight hair and centre partings, as well as the comeback of hair accessories, namely pretty pins such as those at Dolce & Gabbana, and Clueless- style hairbands.
Stay ahead of the fashion pack with our full rundown of AW15's top hair trends...
IndigitalTrend: Tousled Locks
Not quite waves but far from poker-straight, tousled locks are the perfect middle ground. This look backstage at the Chloe show perfectly defines the trend.
Trend: Tousled Locks
The look also works perfectly for brunettes, as shown here.

Rough, texturised tousled styles were showcased at Emanuel Ungaro.
IndigitalTrend: Full Fringes
While delicate sweeping bangs were popular at the AW15 catwalks shows, blunt, full fringes took centre stage, as seen here at Bottega Veneta.
IndigitalTrend: Full Fringes
The look was also showcased at Giles in brunette hues.
IndigitalTrend: Full Fringes
A full fringe doesn't have to be heavy, and can really frame the face, as is proved here.
IndigitalTrend: Experimental colour
Bold, experimental colours are very much still on the agenda for AW15, so why not start experimenting right away? We love this ice-blonde-to-pink fade out spotted on the Gucci runway.

At Giamba, purple silvery locks were bold and beautiful, and are the perfect pastel hair inspo.

Last season's ombre fades are replaced with bolder root-regrowth.
IndigitalTrend: Experimental colour
Whether or not you're a natural redhead, there's never been a better time to trial a fiery tangerine hue. We adore this look, spotted on the Giambattista Valli catwalk.

Dare to dye with an ice-white winter wash-out, as spotted at Temperley London.
InDigitalTrend: Accessories
Pep up a simple twisted up-do with one of Dolce & Gabanna's stunning AW15 hair accessories. Or create your own with a mix and match of grips and charity shop jewellery.
InDigitalTrend: Accessories
For a subtle take on the trend, invest in some pretty grips to add to a loose up-do.
IndigitalTrend: Accessories
Prada's girls wore high ponytails pinned back with fun clips and grips.
IndigitalTrend: Braids
Revisit your school days with a classic country French braid, worn with a few windswept loose strands. Giles' girls wore theirs finished with pretty ribbon. A pretty simple plait was also the chosen look at Lanvin.
IndigitalTrend: Braids
Pull a few strands loose and tie with a ribbon to master this Lanvin look.
IndigitalTrend: Wet-look
The wet-look waves spotted at 3.1 Phillip Lim are a great style for festival season and beyond. Just tong through the lower lengths and smooth side-parted locks behind your ears finishing with a spritz of hairspray. You'll be on-trend and shower-proof. Winning.
IndigitalTrend: Wet-look
Use a wet-look gel or spray product for a glossy slick finish.

Totally shower-proof, we spotted this wet-look ponytail backstage at Stella McCartney.
IndigitalTrend: Polished side-sweep
Balmain's polished princesses wore locks swept to one side from a deep parting, with super-straight locks worn glossy. Use a finishing serum to perfect the look.

How about a pretty pearl headband for party time?

Trend: Headbands
Add a giant Chanel clip into the mix, if you have one.
IndigitalTrend: Headbands
The leather headbands at Fendi look great when combined with a casual up-do.
InDigitalTrend: Headbands
Dolce & Gabbana's embellished headbands are perfect for party season.
InDigitalTrend: Headbands
This jewelled headband is super-pretty for a wedding or party.
IndigitalTrend: Natural waves
Air-dried locks as seen at Chloe; ditch the hairdryer and let a few of your hair's natural waves and kinks show through. We love this look, for AW15 and beyond.
IndigitalTrend: Natural waves
At Burberry natural soft waves were created by pinning curls of hair up while make-up was applied.
IndigitalTrend: P-p-p-poker straight
For a catwalk model-meets-Wednesday Addams vibe, trial this Christopher Kane wet-look style, with a poker straight parting and locks slicked behind the ears.
IndigitalTrend: P-p-p-poker straight
Regular trims are key to pull off this super-sleek Donna Karen down-do.
InDigitalTrend: P-p-p-poker straight
Super-straight locks were the order of the day at Emilio Pucci, too.
IndigitalTrend: Loose bun
Tease the ends out of a loose and low bun to tap into the trend started by Diane von Furstenberg's AW15 show.
Trend: Loose bun
Leave a strand loose from a knotted bun to recreate this Jonathan Saunders style.
IndigitalTrend: Side ponytail
The side ponytail is back for AW15, people. Because Dior said so.
IndigitalTrend: Side ponytail
Ditch the parting and brush all your hair to one side to recreate this look.
IndigitalTrend: Side-parted pony
Erdem's take on the AW15 low ponytail is super-pretty; create a faux fringe with a severe side parting swept over to one side and clipped into place.
InDigitalTrend: Bangs
The piecey fringe is back for AW15 at Emilio Pucci; so ditch the full-fat bangs and opt for a choppy fringe in preparation.
IndigitalTrend: Bangs
Two of AW15's key trends were on show at Giorgio Armani, with more choppy bangs and low, undone buns. Perfect this look by leaving several face-framing strands loose from the style and keeping the bun messy.
IndigitalTrend: Bangs
Dig out the curlers and go for XXL volume with a full piecey fringe.
IndigitalTrend: Bangs
Not only do we love this Chloe model's 70s split fringe, we adore her bronde hair hue, too.
InDigitalTrend: Bangs
This Emilio Pucci is a great style for those with finer hair, wanting to trial a fringe.
IndigitalTrend: Bangs
This full blunt-cut fringe spotted at Derek Lam is a beauty.
IndigitalTrend: Twisted up-do
The completely undone bun is one of the coolest looks from the AW15 catwalk shows. Make like Fendi's girls and leave the ends loose and splayed out from a classic twist.
Trend: Twisted up-do
A similar style was spotted on the Jonathan Saunders catwalk.
IndigitalTrend: Bedhead beauty
Tousled bedhead waves were on the agenda at Gucci AW15; we love the simple centre parting and loose, natural curls.

This is a great look for long bobs and mid-length locks.
Christopher YatesTrend: Bedhead beauty

Trend: Bedhead beauty
Roberto Cavalli's girls wore their locks in glossy laid-back waves.
IndigitalTrend: Bedhead beauty
Natural side-swept waves are a big look for AW15. We love this Giambattista Valli look.
IndigitalTrend: Topknot
The extreme topknot, as demonstrated at Marc Jacobs AW15, is a play on the messy topknots we've seen off the runway for several seasons now. AW's versions are neater and more styled, although we'd recommend taking Marc's look a little further back from the face for everyday wear.
IndigitalTrend: Topknot
Ensure the look is neat from the back by combing out any bumps when the hair is in a high pony. These will be hidden by the bun once the topknot is in place.
IndigitalTrend: Grunge
Grunge goddess is a big trend for AW15, tap into the look early with a long, swept-over fringe worn with plenty of texture and a wet-look finish. This style is from the Alexander Wang show.
IndigitalTrend: Low Pony
Another season going strong, the low ponytail is no longer confined to the gym. We love this laid-back Erdem look.
IndigitalTrend: Low Pony
Take the low pony from casual to camera-ready by adding a side-swept fringe and some height at the crown.
InDigitalTrend: Low Pony
Straighten hair before looping into an elastic for a super-polished finish like this Hugo Boss model.
IndigitalTrend: Cool crops
The choppy fringe, spotted on the Burberry runway, is one of AW15's edgiest cuts. Tap into the look now with a visit to your stylist.
IndigitalTrend: Cool crops
This side-swept grown-out crop is a great choice if you've been rocking a super-short pixie through the summer.
IndigitalTrend: Victoriana
More is more for Alexander McQueen's back-combed beauties. Tap into this trend come party season by piling locks on top of your head and finishing with plenty of texturising spray.
IndigitalTrend: Victoriana
Keep the look asymmetric for a fashion-forward finish.
IndigitalTrend: Glossy centre-part
The centre-parted model-off-duty blow-out is style in style for AW15, as seen at Chloe.
IndigitalTrend: Glossy centre-part
Wear locks slightly wavy and work statement brows for a catwalk finish.
IndigitalTrend: 90s
Still have one of these hair accessories from the 90s? Dig yours out if you want to recreate this look from the Derek Lam AW15 show. In the meantime, the low ponytail trend isn't going anywhere.
IndigitalTrend: 90s
Remember how you used to always pull two strands out from your ponytail at school? Well it's time to start doing it again.
IndigitalTrend: 90s
A headband, messy bun and a couple of face-framing strands. The 90s are back.
IndigitalTrend: 90s
The 90s high ponytail is back with a twist; Prada's girls wore theirs pinned to the side with bedazzled slides.
IndigitalTrend: The tuck
One of our favourite looks from the AW15 shows is the Giambattista Valli tuck - just tuck long locks into a shirt or scarf et voila; a catwalk-worthy 'do.
IndigitalTrend: The tuck
...It'll even work come party season.
