Amal Clooney's Met Gala dress officially has the Queen's seal of approval

A brave sartorial move made by Amal Clooney at this year's Met Gala has seemingly garnered the royal seal of approval, if February's most surprising Fashion Week runway was anything to go by.

Attending this year's Met Gala, co-chair Amal interpreted the theme - 'Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination' - via a strapless silver foil bustier, trousers, and a floral embellished half-skirt with dramatic train.

Simple and effortless, eh? Perhaps not. But while her look may have been one of the busiest to grace this year's Met Gala red carpet, it was created by the royally-approved Richard Quinn.

The designer was recently awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design, and caused a social media storm when he welcomed Her Majesty to sit front row at his latest runway show during London Fashion Week.

Quite the debut, the Queen stunned fellow f'row-goers as she took her seat next to Anna Wintour and BFC Chief Executive Caroline Rush to witness Quinn's latest showcase.

Clearly a fan of the young designer, we'd like to think that if the Queen were compiling her own Met Gala best-dressed list then Amal would take the top spot.
