We've all seen certain fashion pieces absolutely everywhere for the last few months – you know, the hottest fashion items that have had everyone frantically scouring the internet for their sizes. Case in point: the Loewe x On Running Cloudtilt 2.0 trainers, which were immediately seen on Emily Ratajkowski's feet moments after they hit digital shelves, or the Dragon Diffusion woven leather basket bag on the arms of nearly every mum-fluencer on Instagram this summer.

Now, their cult statuses have been made official. The Lyst Index, which analyses the behaviour across more than 200 million shoppers and 17,000 brands to determine the most sought-after brands and items of the year, released its Q2 report today – and unsurprisingly, the trainers and bag made the cut, along with some of our favourite fashion items (hello, Prada Symbole sunnies).

Basically, if these fashion pieces were songs, they'd be the sweeping up Grammys this year.

Some items on the list, however, caught us by surprise. A pair of red flared trousers by minimalist athleisure brand High Sport came in at number six, but a closer look at the founder revealed some insight into the brand's success: High Sport founder Alissa Zachary is an alumnus of The Row, where she spent 10 years in merchandising, while also consulting for brands like Khaite. Clearly she knows how to make a hit product.

Sitting at number seven is Amy Lynn's white puffball dress, thanks to a viral moment on TikTok which generated over 61.6M posts.

The Lyst Index, which also measures a brand's overall popularity, gave a definitive ranking of today's buzziest labels. Loewe overtook Miu Miu and Prada to claim first place, in no small part thanks to the brand's headline sponsorship of the Met Gala and Jonathan Anderson's high-profile red carpet collaboration with Zendaya for the Challengers press tour. Saint Laurent and Balenciaga rounded off the top five spots, and while the rest of the list was dominated by the usual suspects (Gucci, The Row and Louis Vuitton, for example) – contemporary brands have elbowed their way up the list, as luxury brands continue to raise their prices.
