These press-on falsies have changed the game for easy lash application

And I suck at false lashes.

Full, fluttery-looking lashes continue to be big news for 2024, as for how to achieve them? One brand has just changed the game. The imPRESS Press-on Falsies may just be the easiest lashes I’ve ever tried – and, trust me, I suck at applying false lashes. Not only do they take care of most of the hard work, they’re also the nearest you’ll get to a pretty, enhanced lash look at home.

I love the idea of false lashes, but my execution has always been off. I rocked lols jumbo lash strips (peeling off at the edges) in my teens and I’ve glued my eyes shut a good few times, too, unless a mate or makeup artist was on hand to help apply them.

The imPRESS Press-Ons skip glue for a breakthrough pre-bonded, self-stick adhesive technology. So if glue is your nemesis, this removes any sticky situations: for instance applying too much, or applying them too soon so they slide around spreading goop. Instead, the adhesive at the top of the band has been developed to the optimal tackiness to adhere, without the faff and mess, to lashes. Once applied and clamped into place with the accompanying non-stick applicator, they’ll stay put for up to 24 hours.

Like the brand’s TikTok-approved Falscara lashes, the imPRESS Press-On Falsies come in little clusters that make application easier, as you don’t have to line up a whole strip. They have the same under-lash application too, so the bands are invisible and you can place them exactly where you want volume for a more natural and personalised flutter.

There’s three styles to choose from: Voluminous for a glam finish, Spiky for an on-trend look and Natural so your lashes look beautifully full without giving away that they’re false.

I chose Natural, and after taking a couple of minutes to get used to the non-stick applicator, I was surprised by how much easier (and less scary) it was to attach false lashes to my lash line when there was no chance of getting glue in my eye. There was a little trial and error – if I didn’t line the little cluster up right the first time, I’d reposition it with my applicator and try again, gently tucking it under my lash line, then squeezing softly to attach it into place. Within five minutes, I’d layered up four clusters to my right eye. I brushed through with a spoolie to blend them into my natural lashes, then (as a personal preference) applied a tiny coat of mascara to my bottom lashes to finish the look off. Then I repeated on my left.

I loved the finished look which gave me a similar effect to when I’ve worn lash extensions and I’m confident that I can apply them myself. Given a bit more practice I reckon I could weave this into my morning routine before work for days when I want a little more length without it feeling too much.

Since each pack comes with 20 clusters, there’s enough for 2-3 applications, depending on how heavy you want to go. And at £19.99 a pack, that works out around £7 per application, which is effectively money in the bank compared to an in-salon treatment (girl math). Removal was easy as well, I cleaned my hands then hooked the band and slid it away.

So, if you’ve never found a false lash you could get on board with, the imPRESS Press-on Falsies may just change your mind.
