It feels like a new ‘it’ restaurant is cropping up in the capital every week, flinging open their stylish doors and taking over our Instagram feeds in the same breath. Which is all well and good (we love to see the London's hospitality scene flourishing post-pandemic as much as the next small-plates-loving girl), but the problem? By the time you've hit the ‘save’ button, you'll have to wait until summer 2025 for a reservation – or join a walk-in queue that stretches from Mayfair to Mile End.

That's why we at GLAMOUR pride ourselves on staying ahead of the game and telling you about the next big thing before it gets too popular. No gate-keeping here.

The latest from Australian food and coffee culture brand Daisy Green Collection, Ziggy Green is a just-opened, vibrant restaurant conveniently located slap bang in central London on Heddon Street, just off Regent Street.

As the name suggests, Ziggy Green is a celebration of the life and legacy of David Bowie. Retro black and white photos of Bowie and his peers line the walls, there's an extensive cocktail list inspired by Bowie's music (ours is a ‘When Ziggy Played Guitar’ – rosé, gin, strawberry liqueur and raspberry bubble foam), and even a Bowie's Sherpherd's pie (the late musician's favourite) – with slow-cooked lamb shank, oxtail, herb-baked carrots and creamed leeks – pride of place on the menu.

Elsewhere on the menu, dishes are Australian-inspired and cooked over fire: juicy chargrilled Australian banana prawns; flavour-packed rack of lamb with black garlic and cocoa purée; and cauliflower steak with caramelised cauliflower purée, cacao vinaigrette and labne.

And of course, there's a pretty stellar brunch menu too. Divided into sweet and savoury, stand-out dishes include ‘the Bondi’ (bacon, poached eggs, chilli and fennel sausage, mushrooms, avocado, house chilli pesto, charcoal sourdough); sweetcorn fritters with smashed avocado, poached eggs, peppers, feta and corn rib; and ‘award-winning banana bread sandwich’ with whipped mascarpone cream, fresh berries, flaked almonds and honey. Bottomless brunch is £49.90 per person, which includes one savoury and one sweet dish paired with 90 minutes of free-flowing own-brand fizz.

Downstairs, there's a bar and immersive art installation, Colony Room Green, a recreation of Soho's infamous Colony Room Club. Head here for live music every Wednesday to Saturday (including from Cliff Slapper who worked with Bowie), where you'll feel like you're stepping back in time to Soho's lost bohemia. Plus, you can sip on drinks at ‘2008 prices’ – yes please!

So, we'll see you soon at Ziggy Green for a Bowie-inspired cocktail. Don't forget to book a table before the rest of London cottons on.
