Zendaya deserves a gold medal for her wet-look hair and glittery dress combo

Sporty and spicy.

Zendaya is red carpet gold. Whether it's a touch of whimsy with a feather fascinator at this year's Met Gala; futuristic, desert-inspired gowns for the Dune 2 press tour or a high-slung, XXL plait and bow for the UK premier of Challengers, she is the moment. But Zendaya's most recent look managed to outshine even the Olympic torch.

At the starry pre-Olympics party at the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris on 25 July – also attended by Charlize Theron, Serena Williams and Tyla – Zendaya looked radiant in the fashion house's black, floor-length dress, featuring spaghetti straps and a smattering of tiny shimmering gold beads.

But it's the way she paired the glamorous look with low-key, sporty hair that makes her deserving of a gold medal in our eyes.

Likely created by her long-time hairstylist Ursula Stephen, the Emmy winner rocked fresh-from-the-shower, wet-look strands that were brushed away from her face and cascaded in soft waves over her shoulders.

Colour-wise, it's the same light-reflecting, bright golden blonde hue with subtly darker linen blonde roots that she debuted at Wimbledon's Gentleman's Singles Final.

It's not the first time Zendaya has made wet-look hair look effortlessly chic as you can see from this Instagram post from 2017.

But her latest, ultra-sleek iteration definitely has more of an athleisure vibe befitting the occasion. Zendaya's tennis-themed press tour for Challengers championed a ‘sporty but make it couture’ aesthetic. Could last night be a sign that she's planning on serving up more high-fashion looks with a sporty chic spin during the Paris Games? S'il vous plaît.
