Zendaya is not only known for her epic outfits and her undeniable talent but also her out-of-this-world beauty looks. A triple-threat. No wonder she is one of the most popular and iconic starlets of her generation. So, if you're looking for beauty inspo, you know who to turn to. Recently, we have been obsessing over her soft girl spring nails and we got all the details straight from her nail artists' mouth (or Instagram account) on how to achieve them.
When it comes to nail trends, they come and go, but one thing that is bound to stay consistently loved is a go-to nude nail. However, not all nudes are good nudes, (no pun intended). Zendaya was spotted wearing what her nail artist Marina Dobyk reveals to be the CND Shellac Backyard Nuptials, £11.95, Sweet Squared.

We're pleased that Marina chose not to gate-keep this seriously gorgeous soft pink shade which is the perfect colour for spring and summer and it compliments her skin tone beautifully. The gel polish is also long-lasting and it's a part of the brand's popular Gel Polish collection, which gives a high-shine finish that lasts for up to 14 days. However, if you're staying away from gels or you want a formula you can apply yourself at home, then this shade is also available in the long-wear polish CND Vinylux Backyard Nuptials, £11.95, CND.
This universal soft pink shade is perfect for any occasion, from red carpet events to casual outings. If you're in your less is more era and want to rock a nude just like Zendaya but unsure what the right nude is for you, we've asked Metta Francis, London Manicurist and Founder of Nails by Mets on the best tips to find your perfect nude for your complexion.
How to find the perfect nude shade for your skin tone:
Metta says that different nudes compliment different complexions and reminds us of the importance to find you right hues below.
- Find out what your undertone is by looking at your veins. If you've got a cool undertone (these appear pink or blue in a fair skin and in medium and deep skin tones can appear purple and red) then you should go for a warm undertoned nail shade and if you've got a warmer undertone (these appear yellow in a fair to light-medium skin and can appear more peachy and golden in medium-dark to deep skin tones) then you should go for cooler shades. This is to balance out the nudes based on your complexion. If you're neutral (these appear your undertones are roughly the same colour as your actual skin tone) you can go either way.
- If you have a darker skin tone try to go for deeper shades and match the colour of your nail bed. If you have darker nail beds go for browner and avoid the super sheer baby pinks.
- If you're unsure, reach for a tint for that healthy nail and natural look.
- If you have marks on your nails use a buildable shade to build up coverage without it looking opaque.
“Baby, it’s the bob for me, it’s the bob for me..”

It's not the first time Zendaya's had us inspired with her beauty look, recently rocking an epic 90s makeup on the NAACP red carpet. We’re talking deep brown lip liner and matte lipstick, thin brows, muted copper blush, a slick Nia Long a rolled bob, fit for any female lead character on a Black sitcom show… you name it.
If nude, mutted nails are good enough for our Reigning slaynarch then it's good enough for us.
