One for the brave.

If there's one thing about Zendaya, she's not going to rest when it comes to her hair. Last spring, she cut in a bouncy shoulder-length bob just days after rocking out with butt-length waves at Coachella. Through summer she grew her bob out to lob length. In autumn, she added XXL extensions and this week she remixed it completely for one of her most rebel chops since that Joan of Arc bob at the 2018 Met Gala.

At Monday's Schiaparelli Spring Summer 2024 show for Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris, Zendaya debuted yet another style. This time, she chopped her hair into an ultra-blunt chest-length cut which she paired with an equally immaculately-straight micro fringe, cropped a good couple of centimetres above her eyebrows. And, to make the style look even more other-worldly, her hair stylist tucked two long face-framing strands in front of her ears to recreate the stepped and disconnected look of the jellyfish cut that Pinterest predicted will be big news for 2024. Searches for ‘jellyfish haircut’ are up 615%, apparently, but few celebrities have been brave enough to try it.

We're going to go ahead and guess that Zendaya's fringe is a hair piece, since she experiments too often to commit to micro bangs, but along with her outfit – a black polo neck sweater studded with braid details down the arm, and a ruched satin skirt complete with a show-stopping train – her glam helped make a fashion statement.

That said, earlier this year pro celebrity hair stylist Andrew Fitzsimons told us: “I definitely think we will see the return of baby bangs [aka micro bangs] in 2024.” We're predicting Zendaya's leading the pack and that this year's Met Gala in May, in particular, will give us lots more graphic and edgy chops for our inspo board.

So, if you're looking for a new hair chop with a high fashion seal of approval, Z's got you covered.
