Zara, is my greatest weakness. Stat. Every time I enter the new-in section of the site, I do so confidently, knowing full well I'll leave with a wish list of at ~least~ ten new season staples I adore. This week's winner? A candyfloss pink cropped blazer which looks designer, but costs less than £50. It's. Good.

Playing into this season's hue-of choice – a softer, more pastel, candyfloss shade which serves up an approachable way to dress in head-to-toe pink and which has been approved by Victoria Beckham, Acne Studios and Zimmermann as a result – Zara's cropped balconette blazer is perfect for warmer climes. Move over, oversized blazers, ‘cos their cute; cropped younger sisters are out to play.

Of course, blazers no matter the silhouette are like a camel trench coat or heavyweight white tee: there's no a single scenario they're not suited to. No matter what 'fit or what time of the year, blazers have a superpower ability to upgrade your outfit. But particularly when they can be layered over a white tank top in the office, worn alone with low-rise jeans on a night out or with a matching powder pink skort.

Of course, this blazer's versatility isn't even its biggest draw. Nor is the fact that it's the perfect dupe for a certain designer blouse that has been at the top of our Spring/Summer collections since it debuted (said designer piece is no longer available for purchase – so Zara's alternative is pretty much guaranteed to sell out).

Instead, we adore the structured shoulder pads that create the perfect, angular silhouette – as well as the elegant underwire to the bust. The frayed lapel collar and the lacing, which elegantly wraps around the upper body, gives the Zara piece a final luxe touch.

When it comes to styling, simply combine it with your favourite boyfriend jeans and white trainers for a relaxed look, or, if you like it a little more elegant, with work trousers and heels.
