If you were asleep last night during the Oscars 2017 (it's okay, it was late), here is everything you need to know. From the biggest f*ck up of the night to the ultimate #CoupleGoals moment...

1. Warren Beatty gave Best Picture award to La La Land when Moonlight actually won

Oh good Lord, it was awkward. Beatty was mistakenly given the Best Actress card which had La La Land written on it (Emma Stone won the award) but the true winners were actually Moonlight. After learning of the mix up, La La Land producer Jordan Horowitz called the Moonlight cast and crew to the stage after saying “Moonlight won Best Picture - this is not a joke”.

Following the blunder, Moonlight actress Naomie Harris told Sky News: “After a little uncertainty, we got there,” before continuing: “I am disappointed, to be honest, I really am. Because it just meant that we didn’t really have our moment, [and] our producers didn’t have time to give their speeches. That’s a real shame.”

We reckon quite a lot of people may have got fired last night after vote counters warned not to blame Beatty but instead them for handing the wrong envelope over. One job guys, ONE JOB!

2. Justin Timberlake kicks off Oscars with medley and dances with his wife Jessica Biel mid-performance

The singer performed his Oscar-nominated song Can’t Stop The Feeling and couldn’t stop himself from seeking out his wife, Jessica Biel, in the crowd. The couple shared a sweet dance and kiss. Goals? You betcha.

3. Jimmy Kimmel jabs Trump through Meryl Streep

Jimmy Kimmel couldn’t resist highlighting Meryl Streep’s feud with Trump during his opening monologue and we loved it. Earlier this year, Trump called Meryl Streep overrated (yeah, we still haven’t processed it either) but Kimmel was having none of it. Calling to the crowd, Kimmel said: “Please join me in giving Meryl Streep a totally undeserved round of applause. The highly overrated Meryl Streep, everyone.” She then received three standing ovations from the Hollywood crowd. Boom.

4. Vagina Slip

Eek. Actress Blanca Blanco, who has starred in Showgirls 2 and Teen Star Academy, strutted the red carpet last night in a yellow thigh-high split dress but suffered a mishap when her vagina came out to say hello. That thigh-high split was just too damn high.

5. Nicole Kidman really can’t clap

Twitter isn't the most forgiving place is it? Nope. The internet couldn’t resist mocking Nicole Kidman for her very, erm, unique clap. The reactions were pretty funny. #SealClap, anyone?

6. So that’s who Ryan Gosling’s sister is…

He may have been nominated but Ryan Gosling took his sister as his date to the Oscars instead of his wife, Eva Mendes, to the Oscars. Twitter was asking “who’s that girl?” - Mandi Gosling FYI.

8. Meryl Streep blasts Karl Lagerfeld for “lying and defaming her”

Don’t mess with the Streep. Meryl released a statement saying she would not accept Lagerfeld’s apology after her lied and “defamed” her. Lagerfeld had previously released a statement to WWD saying Meryl had refused to wear a Chanel dress to the awards this year because Chanel refused to “pay her”. This is something Streep has denied. She rocked up looking beautiful in Ellie Saab instead. Take that, Karl.

9. Denzel Washington marries Chicago couple

Jimmy Kimmel couldn’t resist pulling a little stunt for the Oscars. He arranged for a tourist bus to be “hijacked” and rerouted to the Academy Awards where Chicago couple Gary Cole and his fiancee Vicki Mines were married by Denzel Washington. As you do…
