We love an inspiring beauty message, and the latest 'power of makeup' trend has started one of the very best: it's ok to wear makeup or make the decision not to, as well.
Beauty vlogger Nikkie started the beauty trend which has now gone viral: to apply makeup to half of your face, then take a selfie shared with the hashtag #thepowerofmakeup.
Her video, entitled "The power of MAKEUP!" has been viewed more than 17,000,000 times, and shows the vlogger applying makeup to half of her face. The point of her project was to fight against "makeup shaming" and to show that it's also ok if you don't like wearing makeup.
A stream of selfies hit instagram following the video, all with empowering messages about natural beauty, as well as the love of makeup.
