The 26-year-old Hollywood star told The New York Times: "I went through a phase when I was really mean because I was so fed up.
"Girls were running after him, and I was giving them death stares. Then I realised that's not what that's about."
No. Probably not.
The pair split back in 2010, and she is now dating and living with actor-model Austin Butler.
"Spread the love, be a good person, they support you, be nice," she said of the life lessons she swears by.
